Press conference on now; so morose!

Serena will learn from it and bounce back. She just lost touch with real tennis. It happens all the time to players. They think they are in the right place even if they arent. Sloane, Kerber last year, Kvitova, Ana 2 years ago... all these players thought they are doing things right while they were doing them wrong.
WE LEARN...

It truly does get harder when you're over 30! No one more fit than Martina, but even she started having mental "let downs!" You pull back just a little and that's all it takes for an also-ran to challenge and possibly beat you! Roger better be careful in his upcoming matches! Being prepared isn't always enough! :nono :puzzled

Ana complains that she cant see the fast serves coming at her in the dark :D

She's probably right! It's a lot darker there than yesterday because of the clouds from all the rain earlier.

When Martina started missing shots; mishitting esp., she complained about the lighting! She ended up needing glasses in '85!

Yeah but this is taking the mick :D

How could I forget Angie as a potential cheat slayer? Kerber is tough and can do the business with her solid game.
Comn Angie! :)

Kerber's a chronic choker though. To be honest before this match was on I'd forgotten about Lisicki. I like Ivanovic too but doubt she's good enough to win the whole thing so change my preferences of winners to Halep, Bouchard or Lisicki and no real favourite out of those 3 either.

Kerber herself knows that she is/was a choker and she works on that! She improved her finish of matches in the last half a year. She has better results in last months and she wins more tight matches. The players know what we know, but sometimes they cant fix weaknesses. In Kerber case she improved in the last months. She won a sensible match against Watson and the crowd last week. She is more solid now. She can stress cheatpova. Cheatpova wont stress her with her mind games. The question is if the Kerber tennis will be good enough to win. :)

^ Very much doubt she'll beat her. Whenever I watch her playing a top player, even one she should be able to beat, she always has that look of doom and gloom and total failure on her face, almost like she wants to cry and it's all downhill then.

Yes, I am talking about that and she improved that. I saw the change in her in the last months. She is better mentally now and not so emotional. Imo

^ Maybe but as much as I'd like her to beat her I don't think she will. She's a classic example of someone who'll allow the horrible stares and screaming get to her.

I think Genie has a better shot at beating Masha than Angie, but then that's me.
No one beats Genie 4 times in a row!

In her mind, Genie expects to lose to her role model cheatpova. Thats why she has a little chance of beating her. Its her role model.

Well, I'm hoping Halep or Bouchard win the whole thing now personally.
I am thinking on the same lines too. I have seen Cornet play on a couple of occasions, she is tenacious at times, so I am not totally surprised by this win. Serena has some issues to deal with.

If Maria is Genie's role model all the more reason to beat her! Reverse the roles.
