Also, I don't think Serena is a one dimensional player. Anyone who can say that clearly hasn't seen Serena Williams play. I will admit that she doesn't always show her great skill set consistently. I think her approach at using her abilities to their fullest potential has been a bit one dimensional in that there is no reason with her first serve that she can't serve and volley a touch, get to net more, etc.

:clap - That's why I get so frustrated with today's players; the one dimensional aspect of their games is a choice! Players like Nadal, Murray, and others can do more! They just decide "I'm going to grind it out" even against "also-rans!" :nono :puzzled

Well it shows in their injuries. You would think with well documented back and knee problems that Serena and Rafa have had that they would be looking to end points quicker and cut down on the wear and tear their bodies endure.

I think Serena really needs to go back to the drawing board, and perhaps bring in a new coach that can add aggression back into her game. Like I said before, she is happy to maintain a rally rather than end it quicker. She should also mix up her serve speeds better than she has and work on just placing it well, so she doesn't make as many double faults, and she doesn't have to hit a second serve.

Do you think going back to father as her coach might help.....I still think he is the only person to date that can help Serena with her serve.

Never a bad idea to tap a successful well as long as you can. He's probably the only person who knows their game better than anyone and can tell her exactly what to remedy. You have to remember though, a coach is only as good as their pupil. If the pupil doesn't execute, that's not the coach's fault.

I say all of that to mention that Richard has given them some poignant direction before and they've completely done the opposite because they're older now and don't take everything he says as gospel anymore.

^ Well Wimbledon has never been my favourite slam........:)

Now that I lost any interest I could not agree with you more ! :D
I learned a thing or two in this event:

1) Not be caught up in the hype of the media. Some real idiots talk on the media. I should not fall for this crap.
2) The "Wimby spell" is just an anglo saxson state of mind, not a real thing ;)
3) Its way down there in fourth place on my list of preferred slams as follows:

Ranking by liking:
-----------------
Aussie slam
USA slam
French slam
.
.
.
Anglo slam

The less pompous the better ! :D

The most important is to hold on to my view and not get caught with FAKE media and event hype of any sort.
