It will be interesting to see how Cornet plays against Bouchard after upsetting Serena

Cornet did defeat Genie on clay,in their only meeting.

Personally I am going with Genie to win....say in 3 sets.

I think if Genie is going to beat Sharapova it has to start NOW, HERE, at THIS Wimbledon. I think when a player like Genie who has nothing to lose is losing to one person again and again its really easy for them to develop a mental block against that player. It has to be now or Sharapova will have a mental strength on her even if her game isn't particularly better for a whole match.

I can't see whoever makes it through on the bottom half actually winning. I would say its a really nice opportunity for Kvitova or Aggie to make another final. But when is the last time Kvitova put together two weeks worth of solid play? She's going to have an off day. Aggie can build consistency but she can get outhit by almost any of the players who would make the final on top.

Let's just all hope Sharapova doesn't emerge on top as the finalist.

Great Champions take what's given to them and make the best of it. It's hard to argue Sharapova not being a great champion.
This is turning just like French Open, top seeds are gone and Masha is now the favorite again.
Unless Genie or Sabine knock her out, I just don't see anyone else who is even capable of it.

But hey, there is a whole week of play left, so we shall see...

Let's see how Genie fares against Cornet first, that wont be a easy match, seeing the way Cornet played today,on her least favourite surface.

So you dont give Simona even a small chance to beat cheatpova? :D Thats ridiculous, and the way you expect Simona to be NO.2 is funny as well. You create a false buzz but its not working.
We know your real opinion about Simona and how you want her to fail. :D
First you said she cant hold the 4th place rankings, now you create a "failed to achieve NO.2" vibe...
comn now, you can do better.
Maybe I made you hate her  I apologize about that but its really your lose, not mine.

Easy two sets win for Genie. I have no doubt about that. She has too much power for Cornet and she can move and she is in form. I expect a destruction job even if I am not a close fan of Genie.
The fact that Serena is out of shape doesnt suddenly make Cornet a better player than what she is.

If Maria is Genie's role model all the more reason to beat her! Reverse the roles.

How come? You admire and worship your role model and you dont see yourself above your role model.
She will start the match in disadvantage, and the cheat mind games will finish her chances imo.
From "pure tennis" perspective I think that she is a better player than Maria! But, she lacks experience and her mental strength is not as strong as "sugarova for the kids" strength.

^ Well their last match went to 3 close sets, that was on clay and their first meeting.

I will go with Genie, still I dont think it will be a destruction job.

Grass gives Genie a bigger advantage and she is the type of player that learns and improves all the time, so she will be even better this time. The only advantage Cornet has is her bigger experience.

Just sports :) its nothing compared to racism.
The English making "the Gypsy" play 3 matches in 3 days because they dont like her. THATS MUCH WORSE.
So much about "fair play"... its fair only if we like it...

^ I guess I am a glutton for punishment

Bye.......:)

:) I feel like my player has lost already without even playing. 3 matches in 3 days. What drives me nuts is their daring to do such thing in day light... anyone can see what those Wimby organizers are doing, and they dont care. They know that we know... It drives me nuts.
If I was Simona and knowing my own character, I would probably have done a "John McEnroe" on a live public press conference and then refused to take their R1 R2 R3 prize money! I already have 4 million $ in the bank.
I would have walked from the press conference straight to the airport and told them to "f...k off".
Its an insult what they did to Simona in the whole last week.

Genie just bows in front of her highness cheatpova and lets her win somehow,

Repeating a lie over and over again doesn't make it true - I'm sorry that you're still bitter about the Madrid and French Open final and that you can not recognize a fighter when you see one - Your favorite acted way more decent in her defeat and she would never think of calling her opponent names

It's also a mystery to me why the management of this site can allow all the insults - name calling and blatant lies about the the ATP and WTA players which this site claims to be the reason for it's existents but immediately take action when someone calls another posters here a moron
Personally I can accept insults towards myself - I can't be hurt by an anonymous person's opinion about me personally - Allowing insults - name calling and disrespect about players - any player is way worse - It is virtual hooliganism and it should - like in the real world - be penalized - I'm really sorry that tented & company can't see that
Well - I might be banned - my comment will probably be deleted - I don't care - I just had to get this of my chest
