Hey TF - anyone can start new threads, there is a a Post New Thread button at the top right on each forum.Carol, can you start a new Rafa thread that isn't filled with all of that negativity? I don't know if I have those kind of privileges yet. I'm not going back into that thread either; it's like a cancer. It's why I stopped posting at Camelot. No one wants to hear that garbage every day, all day.
^ One might also suggest starting a Rafa fan thread in the User Forums > Player Boards.
I don't know if Baron @britbox has to enable that or if anyone can open a player thread or subforum there.
On topic, in Toronto, it appears that the slumping Grigor Dimitrov has finally started getting himself together with his 3rd straight match win, this time over the likes of Ivo Karlovic, 6-3, 7-5.
We will soon see if that effort continues when he plays what looks to be the in-form, in focus, last week's Washington DC title winner, Gael Monfils, who beat a tough David Goffin today, 7-6(6, 2-6, 6-4.
As for the 37 year old Dr. Ivo, this ends what has been a good run for him the last two weeks, winning the title in Newport and finalist in Washington, DC. losing to Monfils. He can take a bit of rest now.
Respectfully,
masterclass

I'm going to merge those Player Boards back into the main forums so probably best just to have thread(s) in the main mens tennis forum.

There was another Rafa thread from a while ago - http://discuss.tennis/tennisforum/threads/nadalites-–-rafa-nadal-talk.259/

Varying opinions and debates is fun and entertaining, we have different taste, favorite players and different opinions about the game, wins, loses, injuries, etc etc with certain limit, respect and forms and that's why we enjoy posting around, otherwise it's better to do something else. We can't say everything favorable about our player but neither everything negative and out of context, they deserve something better
Back to the topic, these next three days seem to be very interesting, hope to see good semis and also the finals.
And by the way the USO is at the end of this month, my goodness, time flies
I saw some of that match. Gregor was stellar at returning. He was more consistent and impressive than I've seen him for a long time.Yeah, good win for Grigor... about time he showed some consistency.

Those particular threads will still follow the creed and be more for celebrating a player rather than debating them and once the user base has grown to a certain level then the idea would be to move them back into their own section. Right now, they are a bit lost out there.Interesting Baron @britbox. So they will not remain as Player sub forums? Or do you have something else in mind?
As I edited more recently in the earlier post, the nice thing about player sub-forums were that they usually don't have any player criticism or debate, by definition, sort of a feel good area for the player fans, just to talk favorably about their player, whereas main forum threads are wide open for varying opinions, debate, etc.

It was an entertaining match from Radek and Nole. Steps is such a showman. He is 37 years and 7 months young. Won 3 qualifying matches and 2 main draw matches in M1000 event. Great stuff. Love the hug at the end:
