Nick's just embarrassing himself and the sport. Can't say I'd be too disappointed if he hung up his racquet.

Me either, Britbox. He disrespects the sports practically every time he comes on court. His petulant ways are a major turn off. He didn't care, probably didn't consider Shapolov, (whatever his name is), a worthy enough opponent, and in the end he was booted from the tournament.

Dominic Thiem discusses injury after Rogers Cup retirement

From www.vavel.com - Today, 9:07 AM
The world number nine spoke to the media after he was forced to retire just five games into his Rogers Cup campaign.
---

I think all those early season matches might be catching up on Dominic. He's already skipping the Olympics. Needs to rest and recuperate in time for the US Open.

Go Berdy!
Great match between Donald Young and The Dog. Very stylistic.
Nice match between Lu and Zverev, Zverev might be playing too much, like Thiem.
Benoit is really on the boil. You never know what you're going to get with him.
Ivo is mowing 'em down. Good for him. He seems like a nice chap.

Commentators on TC were going after him pretty hard for playing doubles last week. We all figured it was going to catch up with him. I take him to be a guy who will learn to be wiser about his scheduling.

He has played too much, him and Zverev. Sometimes that backfires in the coming year. Hopefully he does scale down. I like watching him play.

They really may not have anticipated doing so much winning, and the consequences. They'll learn. I like both of them.

I agree. That's what happens. They do their schedules a year in advance and you never know what the future will bring. I just hope it doesn't mess them up for next year.

Agreed, Zverev and Thiem have played a lot of tennis, particularly Dominic. Hopefully they will make adjustments to their future schedules now that they have shown they can go deeper in tournaments more consistently.

You think he will learn? He was going to play in Los Cabos in yet another 250 event, during the Olympic Games. Davydenko pales in comparison to Thiem, who will play in all the 250 events if time allows it. Luckily some are played at the same time....

Ivo is on a roll... not particularly a fan but nice to see an old vet having a nice summer in the twilight of his career.
