Glad to see the back of Isner. Sela is a small fella, but like a terrier and half-decent on grass.

Agreed, Not Ernie's fault his old fella is loaded. He's still reached a level most can only dream about.
Maybe you two misunderstood..I am not blaming Gulbis because of his rich papa, he is a unique tennis talent ..I think it's almost impossible to concentrate and focus clearly on tennis when you come from such a wealthy background, IMO

Neither one are in the top 10 or from the UK.

Oh I am sure there is some formal reason for it, but obviously this is a match that deserved a better venue. Those poor souls on court number one are watching Thiem - Simon now.

Gulbis says that he plays tennis to be better person. But he really should be more dedicated and then he would be better player too but yes, sometimes having a wealthy father doesn't help to be more sacrificed and concerned about the future

I think it's almost impossible for Ernie to be "hungry " on the tennis court but who knows he has made it far before in a few grand slam tournaments and he has a lot of weapons

He has but he is in that group of players which play a great match but they can't do it in two matches in a row

In heart of all those reddit threads that predicted upsets:
Gulbis will heartlessly butcher Djokovic come Saturday.
In all seriousness, he was fantastic today, great to see him around again. Even better if he could stick around till the semis. :p

Presume you realize he's been injured for a long time? Otherwise he'd be doing much better. Anyway, glad he won today and was expecting him to.

He wasn't, he just can't play two good matches in a row but presume that you has not watched him enough

Respecfully Carol, Gulbis is a top tier talent. And yes, he is inconsistent but so is Wawrinka for example. Cilic. Soderling. Del Potro. All these players had head scratching loses, regularly, and apart from Soderling, they still do.
However, they have won the biggest titles in the sport and have something to show for their talent.
Gulbis, Fognini and Verdasco are 3 players that spring to mind that simply haven't come close to realising their potential. Especially Ernests. He is the youngest and I believe, most talented of the lot.
But alas, such is life.

Exactly, that's my point, no doubts that Gulbis, Verdasco, Fog and others have a lot of talent but how many big titles they have got and why not? well because they don't have something that would help them to be better players named strong mind and being good fighters. Delpo doesn't count because his injuries but he did very good before same like Cilic and Wawrinka which are much better fighters and at least have got big titles not having the best game neither the best players

He got into the Wimbledon MD due to protected rankings. A ranking of 589 does not even get you an entry in the qualifying draw.
As usual, you don't want facts getting in the way of your narrative.

Donaldson took out Lorenzi. But, Sock and Ramos have righted the ship (but the matches are not over yet).

So what is your point, are you going to tell me that Gulbis is a consistent player and he can't do better than he does? of course he can but two weeks ego losing vs Robredo who is almost retírated and today playing very well or maybe he looked better due to his opponent is not going through his best time and level? at least tell me something with some logic about what I'm saying
