Kyrgios gone. First big upset.
I was actually surprised he even bothered to enter the draw.
Kyrgios gone. First big upset.
Everyone thinks Thiem is vulnerable and Pospisil is a good doubles player, which means he's good at the net. Still Pospisil hasn't been inspiring in singles for some time, and Dominic will probably survive this round. Del Potro: it doesn't sound like he's in perfect shape, and if the much-injured Kokkinakis is, it could be an upset. Both are players I think we'd all like to see back to winning form. Interesting call on Chardy v. Berdych. The Frenchman is so unpredictable, and the Birdman has slipped a lot this year.Tomorrow has some nice possible upsets, with all of the following being good candidates:
Pospisil vs. Thiem
Kokkinakis vs. Del Potro
Chardy vs. Berdych
Fritz vs. Isner
Brands vs. Monfils
Actually, I was surprised to see that Brands is 3-1 vs. Monfils, although they've never played on grass.
None of the above scream "this one, this one!" but I could see one or two of them happening.
Karlovic lost the way that big servers lose in a Major to a more dimensional player: No TB in the 5th. I did mention on the other thread that I thought Verdasco v. Anderson was one to watch. Not a shock. And everyone is sorry that Tommy didn't go at least another round. Good they gave him the WC, though. We'll miss you, Tommy.Couple of upsets that people did not note: Karlovic fell to Bedene. Verdasco fell to Anderson.
While not an upset, I was hoping Tommy Haas would win at least one match, but didn't work out that way.

Seems like an advantage on paper, but, especially with his hip, he's not out of the woods. And, for various reasons, it's unlikely he'd have seen Stan or Nick, anyway. He's got Dustin Brown next round. Already, that could be complicated.Four seeds were upset today. Murray is the lucky one with three of them being in his quarter ( Stan, Kyrgios and Verdasco).
It's possible to have a bad knee AND be a headcase. Personally, I think Stan's weird career trajectory has run its course.Bad knee? Yeah, right. When was the knee relocated above the shoulders? I must have missed that CNN update...

I see that you got the joke knowing that he has retired 5 times in a row.:lulz2::lulz2::lulz2:
