Well, I just predicted Berdych beating Djokovic on the QF thread and this should surely be considered an upset, so I need to register it here.

No gloating allowed. :nono:

What kind of a human being are you? :demon:

So inconsiderate to Novak's fans!.

Makes it even more crazy considering Novak retired. :finger:

Note the time stamp on Mrzz's post. He put it up long before the match started, so it was still a prediction, not a gloat.

No love for Sam Querrey on this thread?

I just have this to say about the pundits and commentators: with the Big 4 back as the top 4 seeds, they've all said 'they couldn't see' anyone outside of the Big 4 winning. Completely ignoring Murray being injured, Djokovic being less than himself (and now injured) and Rafa not having a quality finish at Wimbledon for 5 years. Failure of imagination. OK, Roger is still in, and he's always been favored. I'm not sure who would have put Querrey in the final 4, but, hey...he had the biggest upset here last year. Putting Wawrinka in the odds over Cilic was always for dummies, IMO. And Berdych is a previous finalist. It's not really that shocking, unless Roger loses the final.

Maybe people think this not qualifies as an upset... maybe people just think that....

(...here comes my favorite annoying phrase...)

PEAK QUERREY > PEAK MURRAY

Don't worry friend, you're nothing if not annoying, when you want to be.

This is so freakin' sad; as I've been saying for years on all the sites, "the tour is pretty pathetic to allow this to continue year after year after year!" It's amazing that "old man river" will probably increase what I thought was a set # at 17 (now 18)! He will probably take over the #1 ranking soon after and has no real reason to even think of retiring, though I've begged for it! Good thing he doesn't listen to me and has added significant #'s to the record books and I take my hat off to him! The "gutless tour" has other emotions bubbling within me! I'm so disappointed by the "next gen" that have arrived in some respects, but when it really counts in the majors, they're all no shows! The vets still rule with an average age that has to be well over 30 without even checking! That's reminiscent of my era when top players weren't run out of the sport so early! It wasn't uncommon to have mostly guys in their 30's with the only young bloods at the top being Connors, Borg, & maybe Vilas! In my day the tour was played by men, not boys! There's been a renaissance it seems with veterans proving "we're not done!" I congratulate Berdych, Cilic, Queerey, and of course the oldest of them all Federer! :yesyes: :ptennis:

How can you be so disappointed at the gutless ones when all but one of the Big 4 is out? 1:4 chance of a new Wimbledon champ. Now you're just complaining for the sake of it.

If one of these "also-rans" wins and breaks up the party of the "Big 4," then I'll be impressed! It hasn't happened yet! These guys aren't noted for their upsets besides Queerey of late! He's already had his big win! If he goes on, I'll cheer him on! I'm praying for ANYONE else; Cilic could have the bookends of W/USO to really end his career on a high! Many vets win one at the end like Andres Gomez over Andre Agassi in '90 at 30 y.o.! I thought Cilic was done when he won USO n 2014, but he's thrived, won a Masters 1000 event, and has a real chance of making a Wimbledon final! Another impossibility IMO before now! Congrats to all these guys really!  :ptennis:

All 3 of the pretenders have decent wins over the big 4 at the business end of a Major, including Berdych and Cilic over Federer. There's still a chance, so, if I might suggest, hold off being indignant until if doesn't happen. This is what you've been asking for.

So I'm just imagining all these years of 4 guys owning the tour with few and far between wins outside that group? Del Po, Cilic, & Wawrinka the only players who seem to have even broken through at least once! Stan has more ability than a couple of the Big 4, but his brain isn't ready for the strain of consistent excellence! He can blow Nole off the court in Paris in the middle of the greatest run since Rod Laver in '69, but lose in the 1st round to some "Lucky Loser" of a 250 event! You just can't do that! Berdych might get that one upset of Roger at Wimbledon or Rafa "down under" a few years ago, but along with David Ferrer, he's been the biggest waste of talent! He has all that game and can't do a damn thing with it! He can go from great to inept overnight and is yet to come close to cashing in! That isn't someone I'm counting on in a major final! Let's just say I won't be surprised Roger goes ahead and finishes up this 2006-Redux! I feel like I'm in a time warp! No one more a fan of Navratilova, but even I was ready to see her go in '92! :nono:  :banghead: :suicide: :rip:

I think you hugely underestimate the talent differential between the Big 3, at least, and the field. And Murray is a huge talent. Stan has a high ceiling, and a big bottom, and I mean that both ways. (#sorrypunsorry) The sad loss to the competition is DelPotro to injury. Berdych and Ferrer have actually maximized their talents, imo. Their games are solid, but uninspiring and their weapons have flaws. Same with Cilic, who is more like Stan, vis-a-vis "ceiling." They haven't failed to capitalize because they are spineless, but because they are lesser-lights. That's what you refuse to acknowledge, and where I think you are wrong. If they could have, they would have. But the vast majority of them have been pushing a large boulder up an unconquerable hill. Even the ones with far above-average talents/work ethics. Once in a while someone else forces their way through that window of opportunity. But the big 4 have kept it pretty narrow or firmly shut. The window is cracked now, but Federer is still waiting to slam it on someone's knuckles.

I've seen you commenting much more complimentarily on the main thread, and gave your comments a "like." I've agreed with you about how the Djokovic push-off to tomorrow was handled. But your heavy anticipation of Nadal losses is irritating, and your gloating when it happens is a dick-move. You seem almost to salivate more for a Nadal loss than even for a Federer win. It's a little gross. Try to rake it back as you will, but it's clear what blows your skirt up, and you have no feeling for the fans of others.

I held off in responding to your idiotic comments and obscene remarks in this thread partly so that I did not want to waste my time debating with you while the GS is going on and partly hoping you would come to senses after a few days and regret your error and possibly apologize.

You claim that I have hurt the sensitivities of Rafa Fans. I was not talking about any fan in particular. My post was about tennis events.
Calling for an upset based on tennis acumen with justifying reasons is one thing. Simply calling for Rafa's upset (or any other player's upset) in
every round until it eventually happens is another thing; as they say even a dead clock is right twice a day. I did not indulge in the second thing as I already explained in my previous post. The basic standard of BB's are debate the post and not the poster. Mine certainly followed it. Moreover, my wordings were decent. Winning and losing are part of the business for players. Gloating (while winning) and feeling sad (while losing) are part of the business for fans. They certainly have a place in bulletin boards. If not, you are running a forum with extremely high standards (which I know is not the case after having followed from the sidelines as to what happened to MJT).

On the contrary you were personally attacking me just because you were upset. Further, you were using foul language that was highlighted. If you cannot express your points without resorting to foul language, you are not a decent person in the first place and a low class human being.

Problem is you are domineering and you try to control other people's thoughts and restrain expressions. I have seen multiple examples of
this in various threads. Just because you don't agree with something does not mean, you should resort to control and indulge in foul languages.
