Nah,,nerves and djoker has taken his legs by running the man to death..he needs his 2nd wind

Well, I know that Novak never is getting tired though his fans say that he is injured...shoulder, elbow and I don't know what else......:cry

Novak wins the first set and Monfils calls the trainer.

Anyone still wants to watch the match?

Monfils is suckin' wind! He's toast already! :ras:

My lord, you are a being a Debbie a Downer already

Just a historic inevitability IMO! I get so frustrated with some players who have the goods, but think they can "outlast" an elite player instead of taking it "to them!" How many has Murray "given" to Nole because he thinks his training will sustain him to overcome all players? It's idiotic when there are other avenues of winning! Berdych, Ferrer, Cilic, Tsonga, and Monfils epitomize what I'm talking about being owned by "The Big 4!" They can't break out of their "comfort zone" to finish off a close match! :nono :cover

In fairness, Monfils plays this way not just against elite players, but against anyone. Monfils simply does not have an aggressive bone. He does not even attack a weak second serve.

It is elbowless Novak versus ribless Kei in the final. Who do you have?

I hope it is at least competitive. Kei should try to channel in his USO'14 spirit.

If Novak has serving issues, Kei will be positioned to take advantage as he is a better attacking returner than Gael.

Go to ESPN3 watch Monfils vs Raonic plus Kerber vs Halep, that was a good one

Monfils used to play way more aggressively before and be great to watch. Now he's just another pathetic pusher. How on earth can he sleep at night hitting 2 winners and 13 unforced errors in a set when he has such talent to blast winners from everywhere ? :nono What a joke.

Did you watch the match between Monfils and Raonic, Gael wasn't pushing the ball..

Exactly. I know not many tuned in to watch Monfils - Raonic, because they detest Milos, especially GSM (c0ugh, cough).
Well, that was the match of the event, as far as I am concerned. Constant fierce hitting from both sides.

^ I watched the clip here and it was enough for me. They make out like it was some great feat of skill but in reality it's puke inducing pushing by both guys here.

I suppose the big downer on Monfils is that physically he has all the attributes to perform consistently much better than he does coupled with a refusal to mix up his defensive game with sporadic attacking or even sustained depth to push his opponent back. I cant think of a single player in the top 50 who has underachieved more than him, and whilst its probably not fair to label this when he reaches a master semi and runs in to Novak, it really does come to the fore of my mind when I see him meekly bow out.

Monfils did not mention an injury or that he was ill. He said Novak play just got better as the match progressed.
