Koepfer down 2 sets is trying to hang around and extend his time in Parie.

Back to Rafa, I agree with whoever said he would have beaten 90% of players today - so bad luck from the Draw Gods, especially when you consider Rafa's penchant for playing himself into form. His overall level reminds me a bit of 2015-16...which were off years, but he was still top 10 caliber, just not top 5.

As for Sascha, staying focused the next few rounds is key. It is a bit tricky mentally to come off a 1st round win against a great player and stay focused. But he seems pretty locked in and is going to be hard to beat, if he keeps the focus.
It was Don Fabio who said it. It really was bad luck to draw Zverev first round. I was thinking the same that he'd have beaten 90% of players today. He played better than he has all year +. Zverev was just much more in-form. He's also playing some of the best tennis I've seen him play.

I think he'll go deep, and I'll root for him against players I don't care about, to back up today. But when it gets down to Sinner and Alcaraz, forget about it. :)

One day the a French Open officials may regret that Rafa wasn't able to use his PR ranking of #9. Only the French Open could screw up the draw..Of course none of Us felt that Rafa was going to win the tournament yet we all know that Rafa greatest gift on clay was his ability to play himself into being GS match tournament tough. Sascha was absolutely brilliant at times today. Vamos Nadal!

I was wracking my brain trying to think who "Squire" could be a nickname for, so I went to the results. Turns out...it's the guy's name! :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Perricard has amazing power. If he knows his way on the net, he will be a force on grass.

Edit: he just came forward once and his timing seemed a little off.

All mens doubles scheduled for today are cancelled due to rain earlier and officials are trying to get the back log of singles matches played
