^ Fan of the other guy but I liked Roddick too. Don't agree with your take on that great Wimbledon '09 final at all I'm afraid though. Andy deserved to win that as much as Roger did and 16-14 in the 5th and all he had to do was stay calm you say?! In the end it came down to fitness and Roger was fresher. That was an awesome display by both guys. Federer actually served even more aces too than Roddick which helped but Roddick never collapsed. He simply got tired first. Incidentally the AO '07 semi I'm watching here features 2 of the best sets I've ever seen Federer or anyone play. 6-0 (2nd set) against Roddick is insane with Roddick's serve and set 3 was pretty amazing too.

Here is the Order of Play for Tuesday .

The remaining 11 first round matches and 4 second round matches are on play.
People playing the 2nd round matches are Novak, Berdych, Ferrer and Tsonga.

Novak gets a mini challenge in the form of the dirt baller Montanes.

Actually, I am not so sure of the chances of any of the 4 second round players
of tomorrow. I think all those 4 matches have an air of suspense about them.

Sorry if this has been posted already..Gasquest, is toast....bad back..withdrew.

Yes, that is old news. They adjusted the draw due to that and Tsonga became
a seeded player due to that with a first round bye.

However, contrary to your other post, Gael Monfils is still in the draw and
plays Kevin Anderson tomorrow. May be you got confused as Gael withdrew from
Casablanca. However, it is true that there were rumors that he might withdraw
from MC also.

Mad Dog in place of headcase. How fitting.

Novak... 21 winners to Montanes' 1. 6-1, 4-0. He is hitting everything well, accelerating through his shots and hitting eveywhere with depth and pace.

edit: 6-1.6-0 27 winners to 16 unforced errors. 8/9 at the net, 5/12 on break points converted.

Novak in devastating form. Winning the whole match with a feed of bagel and breadstick
and that too against a dirt-baller.

Nice. Didn't watch it but that's a good scoreline and great stats. Poor old Albert is a bit past it at 33 and a beatdown was always on the cards really.

Didn't get to watch it. Glad it went about as easy as it could go.

Wow! Montanes on clay is someone who can still beat middle weights, but I did not expect a bagel and breadstick by Nole against that kind of player.

On another note, Dimitrov beat Granollers. I think that is a good sign for the Bulgarian as Granollers is quite competent on the clay and is a decent player all around. The fact it went three sets and the Bulgarian ground it out is likely a positive for him.

One less pathetic grunter in the draw then. Granollers grunting is a joke.

Except that Granollers was in a final two days ago. I wouldn't take it as a sign of Dimitrov's clay game, though I agree that it was likely a positive for him to have a long match with a good clay player.

Ferrer is giving a Chardy a clinic. For those who think they don't like his game should be watching this.

Just home and checking up on the day: That delBonis is also out is not shocking, having been in the same F as Granollers, but Janowizc is also out…and rather meekly to Llodra. I'm about to join those losing faith in the boy. If it'd been a hard-fought 3, but a rather meek 2? Also, Granollers/Lopez already out in doubles…that's pretty surprising, even if Marcel is tired.

Bad showing by JJ alright going by the score but I'm delighted to see Llodra still playing well and winning matches. He's rumored to be retiring this year and has one of the nicest S&V games around and that will be missed as there aren't many of those guys left.

JJ has years left on tour and Llodra's days are numbered.

It was better than an easy go for Nole, RB. If you can watch it on ESPN3, as a fan it's well worth the 45 minutes. Montanes is rather long in the tooth, but you can see very clearly what Novak is working on with regard to his own game. His execution was jaw-dropping. :)

It was interesting too see that exactly no Nadal fan in this forum bothered posting after the MC final last year, so I wonder if the same thing will happen this year too.

If Nole wasn't injured I would bet my house on him, but the injury makes me wonder.
