Goffin v Robredo could be good. Interested to see how Marty McFly is playing these days. He got through qualifiers at least.

Looks like the Triple F managed to get through. Good for him.

Radek has been playing decent tennis recently, and he has a couple of clay wins against Roger. I am not saying he is the favourite or anything, but I will not be too surprised if he won. He has a match under his belt already and judging by the scoreline he must be feeling good.

Andujar just beat Roger-Vasselin in a 3rd set tie-break, after dropping the first. I wish I could have watched that one.

Stepanek just spanked Karlovic...6-1,6-2.

The fabulous one is in trouble a set down.

what happened to the big man? he is better than holding serve a mere 3 times anywhere.

Who knows...bad day at the office? Or maybe Stepanek was channelling his inner Nole on returns? Even then it does not sound right.

Just saw the results on tennis.com and that's a crazy scoreline to beat Karlovic by on any surface, slow or not! Stepanek must be in great form 'cos I don't care how badly Karlovic was playing, he doesn't normally lose that badly unless the opponent is on fire.

It doesn't take much to make a player totally give up if it isn't his day! Lopsided scores can occur anytime! I remember Federer actually finishing off a clay final over Rafa in the 2nd and 3rd sets, 2 & 0! Rafa wasn't playing badly, but Roger was off the charts "in the zone" and smoked him at '07 Hamburg! :clap :laydownlaughing :nono

Yeah, the warm up event for the FO, then onto Roland Garros. I wonder how that went, eh? ;)

You're going to have more and more of that with the older players like him, Haas, Wawrinka, Nadal, Murray, and probably Federer again! I tried leaning over like I had to when playing before retiring in 2001; such stress up and down the back and upper legs! I don't know how people deal with that all the time, then are epected to actually run down balls and do something with shots? :nono :puzzled

I'd like to see the serving stats for Karlovic 'cos it's not like he does much else besides blast aces so not his day equates to a lot of missed first serves or double faults or simply brilliant returning by Stepanek. No doubt pavlik89 will post the match later. Must check it out. Bits of it at least.

Watching Federer v Roddick AO '07 here. Way, way preferred the older Rebound Ace surface. The balls even made a much more satisfying whack sound on it.

If you're a Roddick fan, I feel for you; rivalry has to be considered a huge joke! Roger never had to play his best; just allow Andy to self-destruct! Their '09 final at Wimbledon tells you all you need to know about this so called rivalry! Roddick can come out smoking, serve can be "on" and scoring outright winners, but all Federer had to do was stay calm, begin to get the ball back, and sooner or later Roddick would collapse on himself! :nono :(
