What about this guy here minding his own business? I completely disagree that pushing someone is less bad than cursing. School bullies hit people, cowards curse and do nothing.

^ Looking at both videos, you have to be kidding me. Neither can be described as more than gentle though dismissive physical contact on the part of Ferrer. Call it rude...I have no problem with that. But it wasn't abusive or aggressive. It certainly pales in comparison to the Nalbandian attack on a linesman. However, a racist comment is another thing. I think you're just trying to justify what you've been accusing Ferrer of for so long, and are digging in when you see it is rather a tempest in a teapot. I will think more of you, not less of you, if you admit that it just isn't that big of a deal. Or, perhaps you'll admit nothing, but stop bringing it up at every opportunity. :wave

Well judging by the comments on Youtube people seemed to think it was pretty poor by Ferrer. I never said it was forceful but at the same time what were they doing to deserve that? Absolutely nothing. Llodra's cursing was poor too but physically pushing someone is definitely worse and obviously Nalbandian's the outright winner in these comparisons as someone actually got hurt because of him losing his temper. Dunno why the people who heard Llodra's remark got so offended by it anyway. They were Korean not Chinese. If someone said ****ing English to me I'd just laugh and not complain 'cos I'm not English and that's how they should've handled that.

^ Reread that and think about what's wrong with it. Starting with "they were Korean, not Chinese." All the worse…jaysus! You can laugh if someone called you out for being English because you're white and Anglo. Oh, first world problem…I've been mistake for English or So. African or Australian, and I'm really Irish! I know you don't really think that's the same. He was shouting racist remarks at the paying customers. Misunderstanding their nationality is only insult to injury, and compounds his level of racism.

I'm going to stop arguing this with you now…I've made my points. But I think you have to also stop making rude remarks about what Ferrer did, just because you don't like him, and he's a more prominent player. Otherwise, you are operating on a double-standard. (I.e., players you don't like that do ignorant things can be called out on them forever, whereas players that you do like who do bad things get a pass. Everyone can have a bad day that they may wish they could take back, in the course of hundreds of matches.)

It was interesting too see that exactly no Nadal fan in this forum bothered posting after the MC final last year, so I wonder if the same thing will happen this year too.

If Nole wasn't injured I would bet my house on him, but the injury makes me wonder.

Hmmm what injuries? :puzzled Hope it's nothing serious? Shoulder?

Novak... 21 winners to Montanes' 1. 6-1, 4-0. He is hitting everything well, accelerating through his shots and hitting eveywhere with depth and pace.

edit: 6-1.6-0 27 winners to 16 unforced errors. 8/9 at the net, 5/12 on break points converted.

Nice. Didn't watch it but that's a good scoreline and great stats. Poor old Albert is a bit past it at 33 and a beatdown was always on the cards really.

Didn't get to watch it. Glad it went about as easy as it could go.

It was better than an easy go for Nole, RB. If you can watch it on ESPN3, as a fan it's well worth the 45 minutes. Montanes is rather long in the tooth, but you can see very clearly what Novak is working on with regard to his own game. His execution was jaw-dropping. :)

I didn't see the match, but I read that Nole actually said he wished Montanes was able to rally him so he could gauge his own form what he couldn't do just playing short points.

I LIKE the attitude.

More I think of it though the match against Montanes was probably even more useful if anything than a rally session. We know Novak is one the best ralliers out there so he doesn't need to prove that to himself and he's clearly fit enough to not need to do that either to test his cardio. Instead he got some great practice at first strike and volleying, which when coupled with his precision rallying will make for a deadly combination if he's doing both well on the day in the next few matches.

Front, I don't think you thought hard enough on this. How likely is for Nole to get to play on the net that much during clay season. Montanes was out of form so Nole was able to do so, imagine him trying to do the same against Monfils, he would pass him easily each and every time.

Front, I watched the match, and he was definitely working on his execution, depth of shot, and attacking the net. He did it well and his volleys were excellent, best I've seen. Monfils is a better player, but if Novak gets the same depth of shot and chooses his approaches the way he did against Montanes? Novak will win those points against the Frenchman the same way he did against the Spaniard.

Really good sign to see you that optimistic Nehmeth!

LOL, I just log in to TennisTV and discover Federer is playing. So excited, I immediately get the stream up and the friggin match just more or less ended. Still, well played, Federer. Sexynek has never been too good on the dirt.

Sometimes AP, you come up with these very disconcerting statements. The answer would be neither, that I would rather be myself. If forced to choose between the two? A stellar career, potato nose and Mirka, or a Gollum-esque countenance, mediocre career and a bevy of beauties?? I'd pick Fed.

Cheers for that, pavlik89. I missed the match but tennis.com said the whole match was 51 minutes long so not much longer really than this clip. Must've been a good performance by Fed.

Ok, last time I'm mentioning this but it has absolutely zero to do with the fact that I just don't like Ferrer and your perception that I'm only bringing up his pushing linespeople double whammy as a comparison is completely wrong. It's just because it was an extremely poor thing to do. I'm a fan of Serena Williams but to tell a linesperson "I'm going to grab this ball and shove it down your f***ing throat" is appalling so I'm hardly just highlighting players I don't like. All players do stupid things at times. Racist cursing by Llodra was poor but pushing someone minding their own business twice in different tournaments takes the cake over a single curse. The fact that Ferrer's a more prominent player makes it worse for him btw so I dunno what that has to do with anything. Plus it's the 2nd time he's pushed linespeople minding their own business now which is pretty bizarre. There's no double standard. I just don't condone dumb acts. I said both were both poor actions and mentioned Serena's appalling incident at the US Open and I'm a fan of her.
