It is important that she holds it until sep. 23rd at least. Then, she will go on the record books for the maximum no. of consecutive weeks at #1 (beating Steffi). I think she will regroup and pull it off.

Terrible play by Serena. Inconsistent movement, poor first serve, just lazy tennis. I'm tired of seeing her try to end points after 1 or 2 shots. If she is hurt, rest and recover; if not please review with Patrick how to construct points. I agree with an earlier post, she looks like she does not want to be out there playing tennis.

Kuznetsova's movement is awful too. Frequently off balance, late getting to balls on the run and yet look at the scoreline. Despite the 50 errors (read elsewhere it was actually 55) she actually had 43 winners so the differential there isn't actually that bad but 9 double faults and the timing of the errors is the main problem. Errors at 40-0 aren't a problem. Errors at break point are.

Well she had a crappy start to 2012 and look at where she ended up. With Serena, you can never count her out. I mean her crappy start has been 2 finals and a fourth round. She isn't in a bad position. She just needs to motivate herself better in the final round.
