I wouldn't hand the trophy to Vika just yet. Sveta could surprise. This might be her last opportunity to win a big title given her inconsistency. Regardless of who holds the trophy, one thing is for sure. Get your earplugs ready. That will be one very loud match... :devil

In the best of times Sveta would have a resurgence every few years that would drive her towards a big final or title. Maybe she had one last one in her.

That may be because she was a meldonium free Russian player. :devil
Sveta is very talented and has every shot in the book...she is kinda lazy..she could have won more titles.

I'm hoping Sveta can have one last glorious moment if this is indeed to be her one last glorious moment. I would settle for another slam for her, but don't think that will happen.

Roland Garros is her best chance, she is very good on clay and has won it before. She has to be patient to win....

Sveta is too hot and cold for me to believe she can win another slam. I do agree though her best shot is on clay. I'm hoping Serena gets her act together and realizes those things attached to her hips are her legs and those things attached to her legs are her feet and she starts using them.

Watching this crap fest with the sound muted while eating my dinner. Can't stand hootie's wailing or her in general. All that fist pumping and come on nonsense. Plus she's pretty fugly :nono Bring on the men's final instead.

The WTA will be a shambles once Serena retires. Such a weak tour and it will be a different person winning each event every week.

I think this is why the WTA gets taken less seriously. You have really only one reliable player usually making it far in every tournament Serena and everyone else fluctuates. I know Sveta is older than Vika, but it infuriates me the fight Sveta has put in all week only to flop like a wet noodle in the final. She isn't the only one who does this as you see it week in and week out in the WTA. I mean at least on the ATP for the most part you have players playing up to or sometimes better than their ranking consistently.

Timea would have made the final competetive...if Sveta was playing Serena should would have played lights out tennis...she said in one of her interviews that a lot of people congratulated her on beating Serena...only to fold in the final like a polyester suit.

I did not bother to watch the match.

Congrats to Vika for completing the IW & M double :clap. I can't even recall the last time this double was done on the women's side. With Serena boycotting IW for so many years, she probably did not do it
either.

IDK the year, but the commentators said Clijster the last to complete the double! :dodgy: :clap
