Was it really an "average" Djokovic at AO this year? That sounds like an excuse for why Thiem almost got him. No choking from Thiem? All on Novak's racquet, I guess. "Played pure crap" for 2 sets? Couldn't have had anything to do with the guy on the other side of the net. Yes, Dominic and Stan hit hard. But it isn't mere ball-bashing, it's that they can hit through him, would be the point. Cite the H2H all you like, but they have both spoiled Novak's tournament in big moments.

I don't often agree with Ricardo, but if you think playing a C- minus Nadal at RG is the "formula" for beating him, then your man just might have to wait for that opportunity to present itself again.
Last time I would not call his game average, what is really high comparing to the rest, ist the AO 19 and of course Final, when he teached Nadal how to play a HC Slam Final.
Everything before and since that was nothing special. He was under average in the Wimbledon 2018 too.
Thiem took what he could get, 2 sets is more he ever got in a slam final. No choking. Kudos to him, even Nadal wouldn’t have made it to the 5 th set.

Ha. That's a rare slam I watched between Monika's stabbing in 1993 and USO 2007 and I rooted for Gonzales who played phenomenally then.

Australian Open has something called vault where I am sure you can find most full matches. I'll check later and post it here if I find something.

@tented That AO vault where I am quite sure I watched some classic full matches several years ago is now just a number of highlights and interviews on youtube and I couldn't find any full matches today.

However, I've found Gonzalez vs Haas full match and here is the link Gonzalez vs Haas AO 2007

The Wimbledon Final last year is also worth to rewatch.
When Roger Got his two MP, camera showed a middle aged blonde women from the crowd, she was on her feet, smiling and pointing out with her finger: Just one more!
I am sad they did not show her again after that.

Come on Moxie, be fair, I also mentioned Rome Final 2011. That also C Game Bull? No comment to that?
You agree with Retardo every time he argues pro bull and against Novak.
Novak has the game to beat him everywhere, and he did. 29 times.
Yes he can lose against the Fake German and the Fake Swiss , but he is the better player. 19:6 isn’t even close!
I didn't comment on Rome '11 because Nadal was perfectly fine, and Novak was terrific. Djokovic knows a lot about beating Nadal, you don't have to tell me that. But making much of beating him in '15 is a cheap way of bolstering your man up. You love the h2h, but we could talk about how long it took Novak to even tie Rafa.

Truth we can talk about a lot of things, also why Nadal coudnt bounce back since Novak got him.

But let me say this, so as you feel the need to defend or bolster your guy in countless posts, allow others to do the same. Fair enough?

Everyone is free to post what they like, but you should expect push-back if people don't agree. Fair enough?

To be fair that was a sub average Federer in 2019 Wimbledon. Methuselah went to passive mode after he got to MP’s. . Novak should kiss his feet forever.

Haha, Roger played fantastic.
Like in the SF when he easily beat Bull. He was so damn close to beat two of the greatest back to back. That alone is an accomplishment.
Poor Maestro.

This has to be my favorite HC match that Rafa has played.....final at the USO 2013 between Rafa and Novak, with Rafa winning 62 36 64 61.The standout shot for me in this match was Rafa's fhand down the line.,which was impressive all match.

If I were a Nadal Fan I would watch this match also over and over again.
A once in a lifetime experience.
What happened before and after that, we all know.

One of My favourite HC matches has to be the Doha final 2016. I am still grateful to Bull for his honesty and words after that match, about Novak’s level.

The win at the USO was a great one for Nadal and his fans, no doubt, but "once in a lifetime?" He's had many great wins over Novak, esp. at majors...it's not even just "once" at the USO. :)

They played many great matches. That one was for the Nadal half. The other one was before the 2011 era! ;)
On HC the Great ones for Nadal are pretty quick counted, not that much. As for Novak on clay.

Let me tell you how sick I am of people saying that Nadal beating Djokovic at the USO in 2010 essentially "doesn't count." He'd just beaten Roger, and also, he was only 4 bloody months away from winning the AO and being "that Djokovic." So that means he was pretty darned close to being Nole 2.0 when he lost that match to Nadal. Or else you might as well be saying that something *miraculous* happened to him between then and early 2011. And we know what that means in sports.

For all lovers of clay court tennis the final of Monte Carlo (which is the most beautiful place in the world to watch tennis) in 2006 Rafa vs Federer is a classic match.Rafa winning 62 67 63 76

Every match counts, it’s 29:26, that includes US Open 2010.
You can think what you want, fact is, since 2011 Novak is another player, your guy never could bring back what he had before, looking overall.
No one will ever be that dominant against Bull. And Nadal knows the reason, he explained it after the 2016 Doha demolition.

Djokovic has surely been the kryptonite to Nadal, as Nadal has been to Federer. But even still, Rafa has beaten Nole at big moments, and the story is not over yet. Djoker is the more fragile mentally, so we'll just have to see how this goes.

Haha, so truth. Nadal beat him in big moments, long ago, and vice versa, not so long ago.
Some here say Novak’s BH is the Kryptonite to Nadal, I think it’s far more than that. It’s the complete player who owns him in the last years, not only one shot.
You know my wishes, I published them many times here, hooooooooopefully they will play many many times against each other, on EVERY surface. Then we will see wich end of the story the future will bring. I’m pretty sure most of you Novak haters (I still hope you are not), hope they do not meet that often.
To call Novak mentally more fragile is a joke, isn’t it? Look at Bulls face and body language when playing his nemesis.

Also we are looking on a long time period since Novak is superior to him.
