Stan that day was in god mode. I think nobody will ever repeat the amount of insane backhand winners he produced that day, he was sweeping the lines
At his peak, Stan has the best use of a “heavy” 1H BH.

Novak went to passive mode after first set. Fake Swiss should kiss his feet forever.Stan that day was in god mode. I think nobody will ever repeat the amount of insane backhand winners he produced that day, he was sweeping the lines
I have said that Nole did pull back after he won the first set and just seemed to protect his lead for a while, which I do feel helped Stan gain momentum and confidence in his shots, but that is certainly not the whole story of the match. Stan played at a fantastic level for most of that match, and Novak spent a lot of time fighting him hard for the championship. He certainly didn't "hand it" to Stan. How one player plays directly impacts how the opponent plays, which is why I have said that a cautious/conservative patch from Djokovic was a benefit to Wawrinka. But it's a Bo5 match...I don't buy into extrapolating a whole match from one patch of play. Stan might not have been able to keep up his high level, (and I personally suspect that Novak underestimated him a bit,) but he did keep it up, and won it commandingly.Novak went to passive mode after first set. No way Novak underestimated Stan's hitting..not true at all..I have said that Nole did pull back after he won the first set and just seemed to protect his lead for a while, which I do feel helped Stan gain momentum and confidence in his shots, but that is certainly not the whole story of the match. Stan beat peak Novak at AO, RG and USO, what more do you want?It is more needed to win matches.
Thiem lost to average Novak in his most important match.
And look at the h2h of Novak and Stanislaus.
Yes they both can hit hard , and so what?
Good on you for rewatching RG 15 when Nadal was losing left and right to anyone, great example indeed.Rewatched the RG QF 2015 and the Rome Final 2011. Nice examples how to outplay Bull on clay.
Stan beat Novak everywhere in big slam matches, try more excuse....or that’s all you got? Novak should kiss his feet and Stan might take it easy on him next time.Novak went to passive mode after first set. Fake Swiss should kiss his feet forever.
Haha so Eduardo again out of his hole.Stan beat Novak everywhere in big slam matches, try more excuse....or that’s all you got? Novak should kiss his feet and Stan might take it easy on him next time.
Also peak Stanislas lose to Novak, but more often. What are you shiting about genius coward?Stan beat peak Novak at AO, RG and USO, what more do you want?
Thiem beat himself, Djoker did nothing when they were 3-3 4th set where Thiem was broken, it was a choke job when he could see victory in sight.

Haha Austria beat himself? He won two sets when Novak played pure crap. The other 3 he played solid nothing more, was enough for the mighty triple Slam-Final-Loser.Stan beat peak Novak at AO, RG and USO, what more do you want?

I don't think that Novak underestimated Stan's hitting...just maybe his ability to sustain his game and keep his head together for long enough to win. That's my opinion. I think that's why he initially thought that protecting a one-set lead would be enough. A Djokovic fan on our forums said before the match that Stan could win if he red-lined his game for 3 sets. I thought the implication was that he couldn't. But that's what he did.No way Novak underestimated Stan's hitting..not true at all..
Stan and Theim are both a bad matchup for Novak. They both can hit through Novak's defense and play a type of offensive tennis that makes the game uncomfortable for Novak.
Primarily, Novak's cc BH is flat and stays in the Perfect hitting zone for both Stan and Dominic's BH.. When Novak's bh dtl is Rafa's Kryptonite well it's an easy cc FH for a player like Thiem.
IMO
Was it really an "average" Djokovic at AO this year? That sounds like an excuse for why Thiem almost got him. No choking from Thiem? All on Novak's racquet, I guess. "Played pure crap" for 2 sets? Couldn't have had anything to do with the guy on the other side of the net. Yes, Dominic and Stan hit hard. But it isn't mere ball-bashing, it's that they can hit through him, would be the point. Cite the H2H all you like, but they have both spoiled Novak's tournament in big moments. It is more needed to win matches.

Hey, Mastoor! So kind of you to think of me, particularly. NYC is not so bad, if you're not sick. Just weird. I've heard the same from friends in Madrid, Valencia and Torino. Stay safe, and enjoy the reruns of tennis.Happy Easter!
Us Serbs have to wait for another week for Easter which is next Sunday for us.
I am happy to see that everything seems fine with Moxie, because I was worried after reading what kind of madhouse is in NY these days.
Speaking of old matches, I reminded myself of Seles/Graf/Navratilova trivalry from early 90s and I also watched Mac/Lendl USO85 final, but yesterday I watched USO11 final. Boy what a thriller. The match is in the shadow of the next slam final they played, so practically never mentioned, but it is definitely worth watching again.
While in isolation, I would like to watch some of the matches of players I either didn't watch or I barely ever watched or I have only vague memory of watching. And the list is long.

I can only find highlights, but this was memorable.
It is very, very bad, and I feel for those affected, like those who are in healthcare, and those who travel on the subways and buses to go to work. For those of us who can stay home, it's mostly just strange. But some of us can't work, and that's a growing problem. That's great then. I read of around 1000 dead daily due to pandemic so it sounded scary to me. Other than you, I don't know anyone else there.

Come on Moxie, be fair, I also mentioned Rome Final 2011. That also C Game Bull? No comment to that? Was it really an "average" Djokovic at AO this year? I don't often agree with Ricardo, but if you think playing a C- minus Nadal at RG is the "formula" for beating him, then your man just might have to wait for that opportunity to present itself again.
