I watched all of today thought it was loads of fun and very good tennis. It has advantage over Davis Cup, in that, no matter who's winning on Sunday, I will still be interested in all of the matches, as top players are playing. Added bonus is Kyrgios getting some coaching from JMac. Plus, he clearly likes team play. Hopefully the experience is very good for him. Surely good for youngsters Tiafoe and Shapo.

Unfortunately my local cable doesn't carry Tennis Channel - and I'm too cheap to boy for the OnDemand package - so I can't watch the full matches. The highlights I've seen though have been entertaining...which is more than I can say about the most of the US Open matches that I watched. At least the matches today were competitive and all the singles matches went to tie-breakers. It wasn't the walk in the park that everybody thought it would be.

Re: Kyrgios getting some coaching from Johnny Mac - I think the important thing is that he's seeing that you don't have to play like you've got a chip on your shoulder all the time. He's got a short window and he's making millions - have some drive and ambition to be the best and beat the best even if your'e not in love with the sport. Aside from Federer - nobody is in love with the sport ALL THE TIME.

Funny, looks like you are worried about Roger and Rafa losing the doubles match and so you are putting them on day 1 when there is less to lose. :lulz2:Even Roger and Stan were good enough to win OG beating out established pairs with lots of chemistry. No way, Roger and Rafa would lose. You are unbelievable.

WTF are you talking about? I didn't say anything about Roger and Nadal losing doubles if they teamed up. Show me where I said they'd lose if they played together. I didn't, so learn to read for comprehension and not just to hear yourself talking. All I was saying was they'll play doubles together because that's what people want to see - Roger and Nadal as a team. Sheesh. Don't make ASS-umptions.

Not fair. And to your point, everyone seems to want to see the Fedal doubles. It seems that both Roger and Rafa are playing singles tomorrow, so we may get the long-awaited on Sunday. I hope so. At this point, so many are salivating over it, and it really is part Roger's instigation to make this thing happen...I'm going to be shocked now if they don't satisfy expectations.

Well, watching the replay plus what I was told from someone who had watched the doubles live I think Berdych needed to get some coaching from Borg, he was lost on the court or maybe he and Rafa didn´t have good chemistry :negative:

Kyrgios/Sock are an excellent doubles team. I never thought they'd lose. Berdych, however, was the weak link. Given that they were playing in Prague, he was an obvious choice. Rafa played well, for his part, in the dubs. Great at net and his serve was very much on.

Yep, I see that Rafa played pretty well. The red team (the others players) clowning around while the blue team were more serious

I'm going to disagree. I think they'll play doubles together - and possibly the doubles match on Friday. The first day's matches are only worth 1 point each, so if they lose that's only 1 point the team loses. The 2nd day' points are 2 points for each match, the 3rd day it's 3 points for each match. So why not put your two weakest singles players on day 1 and let Roger and Nadal have their "same side of the net" bonding moment when it's worth the least amount of points? Added to that - people are buying tickets to see Roger and Nadal - so give 'em what they're paying for...

What is that supposed to imply. You want them to have the bonding moment on Friday so that the loss would be minimum in case they lose. That is how any other person would interpret. Normal thinking would be to put them on the same side of the net when there is lot at stake.

Here there is a guide of channels where you can see the matches tomorrow

It wasn't "implying" a possible loss. That's just you not having a frigging sense of humor. Roger has been talking about playing doubles with Nadal since they announced the event last August. "Bonding moment" was a joke referring to their bromance and the fact that when asked about Roger at the US Open Nadal said, "I don't want to sound like I'm trying to be his boyfriend..." Lighten up. Not everything is a dig at somebody or something. In case you hadn't noticed - I'm pretty straight forward. If I thought they were going to lose - I'd have just said they could lose if they played doubles together and wouldn't have been oblique about it. Damn. Talk about trying to turn a molehill into a mountain.

It is really loads of fun... some very interesting camera angles... and the teams seem to be actually rooting! It is very fun to watch Nadal making his usual gesture to support Federer...

By the way Federer is playing bellow ordinary.

Much better than last month is not exactly hard to achieve. But he is playing better on the second set, I´ll give you that.

The inference is not from the "bonding moment" phrase. The point is about "when it is worth least amount of points" phrase in your remark.

Bengaluru, India.
This event is nice in that I as a Fed fan can support him and Nadal together. No unhealthy adrenaline for some time. And it's refreshing before we get back to our usual business in two weeks.

Berdych has a lot of pressure on him..He may play inspired tennis or fold like a cheap suit from a goodwill store.
