Novak (after his SF win in Queens) is at postion #12. Independent of whether he wins or loses the finals at Queens, he will get a seeding in the Wimbledon somewhere between #9 and #12 only. This would mean, Novak cannot face Roger or Rafa before QF. Who he would face in the QF depends on whether he lands in Roger's quarter or Rafa's quarter. In the event that Novak falls into a different quarter than both Roger and Rafa, obviously he will face one of them in SF and the other in F.
However Borna Coric could face Roger in round 3 or 4 correct

Do you really need to keep saying "peasant?" I really, really hate that you and Darth, particularly, use such demeaning terms for Nadal. Most of us Nadal fans and otherwise don't use such unpleasantries to refer to Roger. Even isabelle hardly ever calls him Mr. Vavrinec, anymore. Darth won't stop, but I would have thought you had a little more respect. :rose: (But, for the record, if you don't want to, you can tell me to piss off.)
GSM has totally gone to the Darth side..he serves his Sith Lord Darth Fed unmercifully..However he has been KO ‘d by Darth’s new apprentice mf. I have my odds bet that GSM will reclaim his rightful place next to his dark lord and mf will be back in cyberspace Just give it time.

Here are a dozen dangerous floaters. These are unseeded players who may cause an upset or two. I have not included qualifiers as the qualifying tourney is not yet over. We have unusually large number of them. I expect at least six of them to cause one upset and at least two of them to cause more than an upset. (Note: I have not even bothered to include Stan who will be unseeded).

1. Andy Murray
2. Gilles Muller
3. Kachanov
4. M. Ebden
5. Verdasco
6. Monfils
7. Deliciano
8. Tiafoe
9. M. Zverev
10. Alex De Minaur
11. Stakhovsky
12. Karlovic

Withdrawals from Wimbledon MD so far.

1. Berdych (Back Injury)
2. Tsonga (Forogt what injury, looks like he may be done already)
3. Yen Hsen Lu
4. N. Kicker (Banned for match fixing)

It is interesting to note that players 1 and 2 above were QF staples for a long time.

Carol..enough of the soon to be dethroned grasscourt king..What’s the latest on our favorite Dirt Devil..rumor has it that he was gonna be shipped in his beloved clay in a ship across the Mediterranean in route to England ( very similar to Gary Oldman’s brilliant portrayal /version of Dracula ).

Top seeded J. Munar, Dreddie Brown, C. Rudd, Q. Halys and N. Rubin lost in the first round of quals.

Other than that everyone in my watchlist progressed to 2nd round.

It is a shame that Brown won't be in the MD. He is such an entertaining player. I would really miss him.

Even though DD lost to Muller last year, he actually played considerably well. He is now confident due to winning RG and he is now fresh due to not playing any tourney. He is expected to show up for XO this week. Given a good draw avoiding dangerous floaters, he may progress to second week. Once he gets there, he will be dangerous. I am sacred. Hope he draws Andy in the first round. :boxing:

Or better yet..Roger is whom Andy draws..Andy most likely will throw the kitchen sink at Roger because he knows his body isn’t ready for 2 full weeks against the ATP tour elite

I don’t feel good about Roger’s chances at Wimbledon. I’m guessing Cilic or maybe Sascha wins this one.

Here are the latest odds for winning Wimbledon outright, after the market had time to digest what happened in Halle & Queens and after we know all the seeds. Again, we have 19 folks with a puncher's chance (1% or better). But, we now have four contenders (10% or better chances).

1. Federer 7/4 (36%)
2. Novak 11/2 (15%)
3. Cilic 15/2 (12%)
4. Rafa 8 (11%)
5. Nick / Sasha 18 (5%)
7. Murray / Raonic 20 (5%)
9. JMDP 22 (4%)
10. Grigor 40 (2%)
11. Thiem / Anderson 50 (2%)
13. Coric / Shapo 66 (1.5%)
15. Isner 80 ( 1.2%)
16. Nishikori / Querry / Edmund / Kachanov 100 (1%).

Important Observations:

a. Fed's chances decreased slightly from 38% to 36%.
b. Both Novak and Cilic jumped ahead of Rafa.
c. The chances of Nick and Andy improved.
d. The chances of Sasha, JMDP, Grigor, Shapo decreased.
e. Berdych exited (actually from the tourney itself).
f. Coric entered.

Next update shall be after the draw comes out.

I'm hoping for a British win like I always do as a patriotic Brit though I know we don't often win & my hopes are often unrealistic.

Wimbledon did a good job in not awarding WC to British players ranked outside top 300. They used to do that before regularly. They learnt their lesson and keep their embarrassing display to the minimum.

There were 5 players in top 300. Two got direct entry. One gets protected entry. Two got wild cards.

I was wrong about speculation over wild card (due to limited use of PR) for Murray. Actually both Murray and Stan got into the MD of Wimbledon rightfully as the entry list was formed six weeks before (and at that point their huge RG points did not drop off).

Yeah ..I know man..but he is the world’s numero Uno
Yeah, but let's face it, it's been some years since he's had a quality finish at W. I thought they were bandwagoning Djokovic a little bit, putting him above Cilic, but I can also understand that. Personally, though, I wouldn't lay money on Djokovic lifting the trophy.
