faker is looking threatening for Wimbledon. Hate how is peaking at the right time instead of peaking for RG. Fed's improved BH return gives me hope but if he doesn't raise his level he could be in big trouble. Hope faker lands in dull's half.

One match I'm really hoping to see at Wimbledon is Novak vs. Rafa. With Novak's slightly improving form and Rafa's weakness on grass, I think it could be a very competitive, interesting match. Of course it all the luck of the draw, but I'm crossing my fingers.

They couldn't meet until the QF...is that correct, @GameSetAndMath ?

Novak (after his SF win in Queens) is at postion #12. Independent of whether he wins or loses the finals at Queens, he will get a seeding in the Wimbledon somewhere between #9 and #12 only. This would mean, Novak cannot face Roger or Rafa before QF. Who he would face in the QF depends on whether he lands in Roger's quarter or Rafa's quarter. In the event that Novak falls into a different quarter than both Roger and Rafa, obviously he will face one of them in SF and the other in F.

Dreddie Brown is ranked 175. He needs to qualify unless Wimbledon gives him a WC (I doubt they will).

Berdych has withdrawn from Wimbledon and so Nick gets #16 seed which is very important for draw advantage.

If faker beats Cilic today he becomes the favourite for Wimbledon.

Generally, we argue after the draw comes out as to who has difficult draw and who has cup cake draw. This time, to inject a dose of objectivity, I am going to list the most dangerous opponent for Fedal in each round. Chime in letting me know whether you agree or disagree.

Most Dangerous Opponents in each round:

Semifinal: Cilic (Queens Champ)
Quarterfinal: Djokovic / JMDP
R16: Kyrgios / Milos / Coric (Halle Champ)
R32: Kohly / Nishikori / Shapo (2016 Boys Wimbledon Champ) / Chung (2017 Next Gen Champ)
R64: Deliciano (Grass aficionado, surpassing RF's record at continuous apps in Wimby) / Mischa Zverev (serve and volley guy) / Gilles Muller (2017 Peasant Slayer)
R128: Andy Murray (Need I say anything) / Alex De Minaur (ranked around 80, Nottingham Champ, Most improved top 100 player of this year).

Fedal cannot meet any of the players listed above before the specified round.

Very important for faker to lose Queens and peg him back a little bit. Cilic is unpredictable, him winning Queens doesn't mean much. But faker winning would've given him a major boost for Wimbledon.

Cilic winning while serving 48%. Kind of a good sign for him and a good tourney for Djoker. It feels like a lot more open Wimbledon than before this week. Fed is going to have to bring it, get that greed level up. Next 8 months are the most important of his career IMO. If asshole is to pass him it is going to be him inching closer in this 8 month period IMO.

That's nuts. Had no idea his service stats were that bad which doesn't bode well for any opponent when he serves 70% + as he has a pretty damn good serve most of the time.

The new official rankings will be released tomorrow (BTW, in case you forgot Fed will no longer be #1 in rankings). The Wimbledon seeding committee meets on Tuesday and will officially announce the seeds. But, as it is all formulaic (at least, on the men's side), we already know the seeding situation. Here are the top 16 seeds.

1. Federer
2. Nadal
3. Cilic
4. Sasha
5. JMDP
6. Grigor
7. Thiem
8. Anderson
9. Isner
10. Goffin
11. Querry
12. Djokovic
13. Raonic
14. RBA
15. Shortman
16. Nick.

Poor Borna finished at #17 after beating Fed and thus won't get much draw advantage, even though he will be seeded.

Her is the complete list of pecking order as per grass formula .

p.s. On the women's side it is not formulaic. It is the subjective decision of a committee. It will be interesting to see whether they choose to seed Serena. I don't think Serena cares about it though.

All the wild cards are now announced. Only 4 used. The remaining four are not used and allocated to next in line in the ranking list.
  1. Liam BROADY (GBR)
  2. Jay CLARKE (GBR)
  3. Denis KUDLA (USA)
  4. Sergiy STAKHOVSKY (UKR)
Fed slayer gets in. But, Rafa slayer Brown is asked to play in Quals.

p.s. Alex De Minaur was earlier given WC. But, his name is no longer on the list. I guess this is because he managed to get into MD directly due to some withdrawals such as that of Berdych.

Do you really need to keep saying "peasant?" I really, really hate that you and Darth, particularly, use such demeaning terms for Nadal. Most of us Nadal fans and otherwise don't use such unpleasantries to refer to Roger. Even isabelle hardly ever calls him Mr. Vavrinec, anymore. Darth won't stop, but I would have thought you had a little more respect. :rose: (But, for the record, if you don't want to, you can tell me to piss off.)

Come on, I have respect. That is why I always use capital P in Peasant unlike darth. :D
