Yes, I think the #1 ranking is playing tennis itself as well as the players. Lol.

I find this amusing although it does send my eyes funny (because I was born with eyes that go all over & as a result had to have an op which has left 1 eye lazy so the other eye does all the work so I can't always see as good as others & have sometimes been accused of lying because my eyes don't always stay in the same place & some people use paralanguage which is 98% effective but not in my case. Paralanguage tells you that if someone is looking to the right they're lying as they're accessing the creative side of their brain, audial for top right & visual for bottom right & if they look up & to the left they're remembering something they've heard but if they look down & to the left they're remembering something they've seen or something like that anyway). Thank you very much for sharing.

Meant to post the new odds after Stuttgart/Netherlands tourneys on Monday. But, forgot about it. Better late than never.

Again 19 folks with a puncher's chance (1% or better). Only 3 contenders (more than 10% chance).

1. Federer 13/8 (38%)
2. Novak / Rafa 7 (13%)
4. Cilic 12 (8%)
5. Sasha 14 (7%)
6. Kyrgios / Raonic / Delpo 20 (5%)
9. Murray 25 (4%)
10. Grigor 33 (3%)
11. Thiem / Anderson / Shapo 50 (2%)
14. Isner 80 (1%)
15 Sam Querry / Edmund / Nishikori / Berdych / Kachanov 100 (1%).

Key observations are as follows.

a. Despite winning Stuttgart, Fed's odds did not improve an iota.
b. Novak tied Rafa (he was below Rafa before).
c. Sasha and Cilic interchanged spots.
d. Kyrgios and Raonic moved up substantially.
e. Goffin and Wawrinka exit.
f. Querry and Kachanov enter.

this is preposterous giving wacky wicky Nicky those kind of odds.. I will take those odds against anyone to say Nicky will not make it to semis

Here are live Wimbledon seeding projections based on the grass formula.

Keep in mind that even though Andy places at #20 as per the grass formula points, he won't be seeded at Wimbledon.

This is because, the set of player who are seeded at Wimbledon will be the very same players who are in top 32 as per ordinary ATP rankings. The grass formula is used only to reorder the players who are eligible for seedings. In other words, if you are not in top 32 in the ordinary rankings, you won't be seeded, even if grass formula pushes you up there.

Just a refresher on grass formula points.

Grass formula points = ranking points as of June 25, 2018 + all grass points earned in the last one full year (starting from Eastbourne week of 2017 to ending in Halle week of 2018) + 75% of points earned from the best result obtained on grass in the year before that (starting from Eastbourne 2015 to ending in Halle week of 2017).

Note that points earned in the tourneys of next week (Eastbourne / Antalya) does not count for the purposes of seeding in 2018 Wimbledon.

People who gained significantly (gaining advantage in draw) are the following.
Marin Cilic ranking 6 seeding 3
Sam Querry ranking 13 seeding 11

People who lost significantly (losing advantage in draw) are the following.

Delpo ranking 4, seeding 5
Shortman ranking 11, seeding 16
PCB ranking 12, seeding 21
Jack Sock ranking 14, seeding 19
FFF ranking 15, seeding 20

Nick is currently at #17. If he reaches the finals, he would move up to #16 pushing down shortman. Nick really deserves to be in top 16, but he needs to earn it by beating Cilic.

Andy does not need a WC to play in Wimbledon as he can get in using protected rankings. However, as protected rankings can only be used in limited number of tournaments, I would not be surprised if Wimbledon gives Andy a WC so that he can use the saved PR entry in some other tournament. This would help Andy to rebuild his ranking quickly.

Sir Andy'll decide after Eastbourne if he plays Wimbly or not, wait and see his next week's results

One match I'm really hoping to see at Wimbledon is Novak vs. Rafa. With Novak's slightly improving form and Rafa's weakness on grass, I think it could be a very competitive, interesting match. Of course it all the luck of the draw, but I'm crossing my fingers.

They couldn't meet until the QF...is that correct, @GameSetAndMath ?

I'm still hoping Rafa is going to play Wimbledon. I'm expecting to hear that he'll play the exho at Boodles.
