enter the clay warrior king.

i see everybody is scared 1/2 to death now. nobody wants him in their player`s 1/2 at flushing meadows.

well it is understandable.

so it would appear that i have my answer: nobody wants nadal across the net.

I really hope we get good coverage on espn3, or else I will have to hunt for streams this year

streams for the open are usually fairly high quality.

there should be lots of coverage by espn for this event.

All eight wild cards for USO are announced.

Only over five of them they have real choice. One is for French Man and
one is for Australian man decided by their federations. One is for winner
of a small tourney for upcoming americans. Brian Baker, Ryan Harrison
and Rajeev Ram are names that I can recognize.

My worry for Rafa now is that he doesn't peak too soon. Got to keep some powder dry for Flushing Meadows...

I was thinking the same thing last night while watching Rafa's match against Becker. I'm torn now concerning how well I want him to do in Cincinnati. I'd love for him to win it, which would mean he has been in all 9 different Masters finals, and won 7 out of 9 of them, but I don't want him to show up in New York feeling spent after winning two events in two weeks -- especially if winning would involve another long tussle with Novak.

Andy has nole on the run.

it looks clear enough to me.

translation:

Andy, not nole, has the inside track at the open.

Andy does not have to win this cinci event.

of course I am hoping my player storms the open and captures it.

I am just assigning a higher probability to Andy.

so we will just have to see.

I have no predictions yet, but I don't like the way people are writing off Roger. I can see a situation where others do the dispatching and he's there at the end, battling for the crown.

I wouldn't write any of the Big 4 off, but I doubt the winner will be anyone other than these...

That's what used to happen! You're just remembering the end '11 and first half of '12! The scenerio would be perfect if Roger still "had it!" All are kind of wiery except Nadal! Andy goes out faster than Nole! Whoever wins the match tonight should take tourney, but I can't really say! All my predictions have been off! No way should Nole have trouble with Isner; even if his serve is on! It was Novak's own UFE's that cost him along with inopportune double faults! He isn't going to win the USO playing like this!

Don't like it either that people are writing him off but lets face it, they're just being realistic :(

we can say he is in the mix but how do you assign him a high probability?

it's a fairly demanding slam. he is 32 and he has been dealing with back issues this year.

True.

Problem is Nole is running away from the tournament facilities and
Andy is chasing him without realizing that he is also running out of
the field.

that straight set, methodical destruction at Wimbledon did untold damage.

that was what led lendl to say that andy has nole on the run.

my sentiment is exactly the same. only I said it long before lendl did.

it looks like nole is a bit of a shaken man. perhaps he does not fancy his chances at the open considering andy is the defending champ there.

at any rate his loss of confidence shows. it showed in montreal and it shows here in cincy.

he is still a menace on the hard courts but I cant see him taking the u.s. open.

for me andy remains the favorite there until proven differently.

Andy's really not playing great. Last 2 masters 1000 tournaments for him have been poor. I don't see him as the favourite personally and we've yet to see him playing Rafa again, which if they end up playing makes things even harder for him.
