The rage now is for the "cronut" so we'll throw them in with the Guinness and some fairly nice Chianti. Send your troops!

I can't wait for the US Open in large part because I will be there the whole 1st week!

I think Nole's stock plummeted tonight especially if he doesn't win Cincy. I am ready to call Murray a decent favorite to win it all. For Nadal if he gets a favorable draw he has a decent shot at it...sadly :(

affirmative.

several forces at play now:

1. andy has nole on the run

2. now the clay warrior is able to introduce some doubt

3. roger is back as well.

nole stock is not a screaming buy at the moment. lets see how well he handles this pressure.

On what basis can we say that Roger's back? He hasn't been relevant in over a year old sport. Even on the fast hard courts on Flushing Meadows I have low expectations and I've probably picked him to win it all 8 of the past 9 years.

Wow. I'm a bit jealous as I've attended the US Open just once so far on Super Saturday 2006. Arthur Ashe was a once in a lifetime experience. But being there for the whole 1st week sounds like a dream. Have fun! Do not miss Armstrong and Grandstand. I was told they make for an electrifying atmosphere as well.

I went in 2009 for two days, it was the men's 4th round and women's 4th round and QF. We did Ashe both days.

This year we have grounds passes (everything but Ashe and Armstrong I believe) for the first 3 or 4 days and then Ashe the last 2 days. It will work out perfectly I think. It will only be the men's 2nd round but that's ok as we figure to see all the big guns again. My brother is a ridiculously big Tommy Haas fan so we will be at all his matches with obnoxious Tommy Haas shirts on. He has a really unhealthy love for Tommy and I will suffer for it :D

Armtrong and Grandstand are the best show courts. Ashe is too big, IMO. And the first week is where it's at. So fun!

Ashe is ridiculously expensive too. 6 days this year is the same price as 2 days in 2009. My bro is covering this year as I paid in 2009. Should be awesome.

That's great, Darth! I hope you get to watch Nadal play Raonic at Flushing Meadows, I'm sure you'd really love that... :D

Agree Didi, the atpmosphere there is electrifying. I have been going to USO every year for 20 or so years. Armstrong and Grandstand stadiums are great to watch matches as they are not too big.

@Darthfed, going for the whole 1st week is awesome. The actions on the outside courts in the 1st week are great. I will be there couple of days in the first week.
Have fun there.

Haas and Fed are the most fundamentally sound players on the tour, maybe ever.. both player set up for their strokes in perfect positions, lead with the front foot and etc. Unfortunately, the mental fire that burns in Federer has not resonated in Tommy for some reason or another. I would think that because he is more grounded now being 35, injury free and a family man, he would just be able to go for it(similar to his victory over Djoker at Miami although it wasn't a final but sent a statement that his game can compete and defeat the top ranked players). I totally understand why your brother has the unhealthy  for Tommy.

:laydownlaughing Well no way he can play Raonic in the 2nd round. I saw him play Monfils in 2009 and it was actually an entertaining match through 2 sets. This year I will likely get to see him bludgeon a cupcake in Ashe one of those days. I'm just hoping Roger is still there for 2nd round. Crazy that I have to worry about it. When picking out days in 2009 I knew there was a 99.9999% chance he'd be there in round 4.

I really like Haas too, always did. Great game and he is an entertaining basketcase. Though being a basketcase, as well as injuries, is a big part of the reason he underachieved throughout his career. Glad to see him partially making up for lost time. I will be seeing his first 2 matches unless Roger plays the 2nd round at the same time he does. And it will be exciting in general to see some really good players on the small outer courts.
