Cant believe Venus did that and I am happy for her. If she was healthy then this result would have made sense ;)
So far I guessed 1 out of 4. The unexpected is totally expected in the WTA :D

Serena, I trust you to beat JJ in the QF and Petra in the SF. :)
That will make Simona Halep #7 in the world by next Monday without winning a match in Dubai ! :D

Now, now, we don't want none of that climbing up the rankings without winning.
Serena will have a tough time against JJ, me thinks.

Sorana is up 5-2 in the first set, Sara is to serve to stay in the set.

Sori takes the opener 6-2. Sara up a break in the 2nd 3-1. Alize comes through in straights over Flip. Venus/Serena are about to play doubs against the two players they defeated in R1 singles (Maka/Ves). Very ironic...

I was wrong about Alize, her climb in Paris is still in effect it seems.

I am watching Sorana/Sara on video stream

Behind 2-5 in the second set, Sorana gets back into it with two straight breaks, 5-5 in the second.
Great level of play by both players there but then Sorana gets too hyped-up and her game into disarray! Aiming for the court and ending in the crowd, she loses the second set 7-5

Watching both matches on 2 streams via my laptop. The Russian doubs team up a break on the Williams 4-3. Sara takes the 2nd set 7-5 and we're in the decider.

But she does have the power, she can hit winners from both sides at will!

Sori grabs the early break 4-1. We'll see if she can close it out.

Meanwhile, the Williams are in a dogfight. Down a set and tied 4-4 in the 2nd.

Great win for Sori. :clap The Williams hold for 5-4 and then break at love w/ some aggressive returns to square the match one set all. Heading for the super TB.

Sorana CIRSTEA vs Sara ERRANI - Sori can do it but she wont. ;) Errani too experienced and will win it. I hope I am wrong.

Yes she can and pigs are flying over Dubai :D I am happy for her. Good signs of fight and improvement since the fed cup in Budapest. The tennis boot camp there toughened her up.
Saved match point in Doha, gave hard set to Aga and now this.

What impressed me was her patience in 3st when she waited and didnt go for the crazy winner. She is learning from Simona how to handle long rallies :)
Good, Sorana.

I like this Romanian 1-2 punch!
:basiate

I would love Romania to have two good players, dont get me wrong, but if I were you I wouldnt had high hopes. She always has streaks of few good matches and then she loses to some under 100 somewhere in R1
Lets hope :)

The Williams are down 6-1 in the tie break. This looks over.
