Venus has to do it in straights. I don't like her chances in a 3rd set. Her 3-set record over the last few years is dismal.

I read the posts above yours and wanted to post exactly what you are saying.
Venus in 2, or Cornet in 3.
If there are 3 sets then Venus attacking style wasn't good enough in the first two sets, and Cornet will grind the 3rd set. Venus must finish the match in 2 sets or she will get tired in the 3rd set from all the long rallies.

Just my words. I think both ladies did a magnificent job this week and both deserved to be in the final. Nice to see Venus back on track, she's a wonderful player when she's playing like in DUbai.:clap

For all the trials and tribulations that Venus has endured in the last few years, it is impressive to see how she won this event. Also, Alize has shown she is no slouch either, she continues to impress me with her game sense, could be one of those "sleeper" type players that will continue to upset higher echelon opponents, as she climbs the rankings. I have seen her play in person a couple of times.
