I loved that blue clay. It made the ball so clear unlike the orange clay. Half the time, I turn off my tv because I can’t track the ball against that color especially during sunny conditions.

Talking about the bad and fake blue clay they also should put artificial grass and yellow color and then it will be in better conditions than the last year when before the second week looked completely burned, it looked anything but grass

Meanwhile Feli says that the clay surface of Madrid this year is better than ever, very similar to Montecarlo and RG. He was practicing and says it’s in perfect conditions because they have a very good operators working excellent on it

Just so you know, the current mangled grass of the 2nd week of Wimbledon is when things get much, much easier for Nadal as the ball bounces higher and the court (Centre court in particular) plays basically like clay. This is why people continuously say IF he makes it past the first week, he goes way up as a contender. In week one, it's the complete opposite. Artificial grass would do him absolutely no favours.

So true. The blue clay was great for watching even on streams. Normal clay on streams is unwatchable a lot of the time for the reason you stated above. The WTA clay courts at Charleston are quite a refreshing change in terms of colour too. Used to be green/grey and not sure if that's still the case but the ball is way easier to follow.

Be careful what you wish for. That garbage grass and heavy ball have had arguably the greatest impact on Rafa's career while simultaneously hurting Roger quite a bit. If you had fast grass all tournament Rafa would still be looking for his 1st Wimbledon and Fed would likely be sitting on 10+ by now.

I was just comparing the stupid blue clay with an artificial grass, same s**t.

Actually Novak is the #12 ranked so it's normal that he gets that draw besides Nishi is not going through his best time

Why do you need to use abusive names, and also not have any tennis discussion to back up claims? We are a discussion board. If you really think that Djokovic has a legitimate chance of beating Nadal, why don't you just argue it? What do you think gives him a solid chance against Nadal in this tournament? What do you think actually gets him out of the next round, given the state of his game?

When your ranking drops, your chances at a good draw do, too. I actually think Taro Daniel was a qualifier, so there's no excuse there. Djokovic's recent injuries have consigned him to his current ranking. That's part of the deal.

What is there to discuss anymore. Can we skip ahead past the scumbag biting his 11th RG trophy?

Oh boy, this clay season is unusually boring. This is probably the most boring clay season in this millennium.

If it bores you that Nadal is a great champion on clay, that's part of the story, but there is a lot going on in the field. And I would ask you, as a Federer fan, when he has swept the field or scooped up records, if that also bored you?
