I don't see what the fuss is about the backwards pants thing.

It's intended to be funny...to lighten things up a bit. Because things get WAY too tense around here sometimes!

Yeah, it's funny. But some people are frothing at the mouth over Nadal's pants and I'm wondering why. :cover

How much time do players get for potty breaks? Bernades WAS the umpire, and he's been known to enforce the time rules...especially when Folks is involved. So, maybe Folks had to pinch one off sooner
than he normally would and he had to hurry, for fear of possibly losing a point. Honest mistake, IMO. Not everyone drops a deuce at the same rate. Actually, now that I think about it, that means that Folks must have completely taken off his shorts to dump his load, which makes no sense to me. Maybe I'm weird, but I'm a "pants to the ankles" guy when I take a crap. I don't ever recall completely taking off my pants for the sole purpose of dropping one, which is what Folks must have done, unless his shorts were initially on backwards. Definitely one of those things that makes you go...Hmmm.

There is no time limit on bathroom break...when they leave the court there is an ATP/ITF/WTF representative who escorts that player to the washroom to make sure nothing funny is going on, without actually watching that player do his or her business. Naturally players can't just sit there for a long time without doing anything, but there is no stop watch for this, as far as I know...unless Carlos has one for everything Rafa does.:snicker

Talk about TMI :laydownlaughing

Really? There isn't? Thought there was a 5-minute rule or something. Maybe I'm getting it confused with something else.

I may be wrong...I am sure that it is in the rulebook...and IH is an expert in that....I would ask something about the rules in the past and he would answer me citing the section and everything...maybe he lost the rulebook.;)

I wonder how long that image of him sitting on the toilet seat will haunt me.:snicker:laydownlaughing

Well, lots of strange things happen on tennis courts. Five years ago, in French Open 2010,
Jalena Jankovic famously changed her undies in front of a stadium full of people.

Also the distances between washroom facilities and tennis courts are different from tournament to tournament, how do you adjust for that?

It is not a joke. If you are curious, you may watch it at Rocky Shorts Change . But it appears to be at the beginning of the third set, which is weird. Most probably he took a bathroom break at the end of second set and changed shorts in the bathroom and put it on wrongly.

Just pursuing this as a vengence for all the vigourous nonsensical Nadalite replies in this thread.

I wonder if Nadal has ticks in the bathroom too? How on earth would you end up with your shorts backwards after a potty break?

I've wondered the same myself. How exactly does that happen with a full grown adult? :nono

Nadal could learn a thing or two from Roger. No matter how many times he wet himself while playing Rafa, he never put on his shorts backwards.

Quite the contrary. I'm saying he should look to be more like Roger when it comes to putting his shorts on (less so when it comes to wetting himself).

You've been absolutely insufferable lately with your condescension especially since again, you're wrong. What I meant is simple: It was a dig at Federer's abysmal record against Nadal. You somehow missed the joke completely and actually thought it had anything to do with putting shorts on backwards. It's getting embarrassing.

And you're your usual self. That's exactly what I implied you meant :nono

PS, my condescension is no worse than your sarcasm :)

You understood that's what I meant and you thought I was somehow implying it was "Roger's fault"? You're right, maybe my ssrcasm is terrible if that's the idea it conveyed. Anyway I'm sorry for bringing up the h2h. We all know it's irrelevant. So irrelevant in fact, we have to be reminded of it's irrelevance twice a week.

Where did I say you implied it was Roger's fault mate? :nono There you go again! Facts not in evidence. What I find humorous is that your guy does something silly, but you can't resist bringing Federer's name into it. I actually found it humorous :) But you take yourself so seriously. What on earth the h2h has to do with Nadal not being able to put his shorts on correctly escapes me, but obviously that's your sense of humour. All well and good. I salute you sir I found it funny, and replied. No need to get sensitive because I made a joke back. If you sling it, learn to take it

Hey Broken, Federberg, and everybody,

Let's stop and think before posting in this thread. Take a step back for a second It's gotten way off topic and everybody is misreading each others light jokes way too seriously. We have all gotten heated (including myself). Just a friendly reminder, we are all here for friendly debate.
