To start with Nick should consider not visiting Bars till 2 a.m. on the day before the match., like he did in Wimbledon.
I called Nick's mom and told her you said so. First she said, "Nick who?" When I reminded her she said, "good luck with that."

I thought about the fact that Nick has enjoyed playing on Melbourne Arena and now he'll have to play on Laver. Nick will be up for the match, of course, and the crowd will support him, but if anyone can put the antics out of his mind, for sure it's Rafa, even with their personal animosity. I'd give Nick a chance, but he'll have to get up on Rafa quickly and get it over with fast.

More than likely, Nick will feel the effects of his last match. It is still up to Nadal on whether or not he wants to end this match quickly or make it a 4-set match.

One advantage that Nadal has over Kyrgios in this match is that the court conditions are slow during the night so Kyrgios might want to avoid rallies against Nadal.

As for Nadal, it is all about conserving energy because he is more than likely will face Thiem and Medvedev back to back...

With 16 players left, here are the latest odds as per the bookies.

CONTENDERS:

1. Novak 5/6 ~ 54.55 % (it was around 45% when AO started).
2. Ralph 9/2 ~ 18.18% (same as before)
3. Fed/ Med 8 ~ 11.11% (same as before for Med, but Fed who was behind Med at the beginning caught up).

PRETENDERS:

4. Thiem 25 ~ 3.85%
5. Kyrgios 33 ~ 2.94%
6. Milos 40 ~ 2.44%

DISHONORABLE MENTIONS:

7. Sasha / Rublev 50 ~ 1.96%
9. Stan 66 ~ 1.50%

The rest are not even given a punchers chance.

What's the point? Not really anything has changed. I don't see how odds are more interesting than personal conversation, on a forum like this.

Joker up 2 sets and the break, so what the fuck is he barking about? Why so crabby all the time?

I think it’s the same reason why Nadal is fist pumping on a point when leading two sets and a break. For me as a fan it’s a good sign, you know why. Not comparable to Novak between 2016-2018.

I am very curious to see if Raonic can take a set from Djokovic. He probably won't though...

Good win by Novak. Hopefully Croatia wins the title today against Spain, would become a perfect sports-day for me.

What are you talking about moron?

I'm a little confused? Are you talking about Roger's latest match? I stayed up until 5 AM thinking it would be anything but a cakewalk after his marathon effort against Millman a couple days ago! I was right; he started out a little slow allowing Fucsovics to "break his ankles" on several occasions ripping shots behind him! Fed was lucky the kid "went away" with the pressure of it all to back up that first set! It's just starting again! I need to watch it; just the 1st set which was hilarious to see the old man struggling!

He was lucky, and has always been lucky. The 'old man' will need luck of epic proportions to win this tournament.
