This one had puzzled me because if there’s one surface that Theim has mastered, its red clay. If anything Theim needs more consulting for consistent results on HC, whereas Muster was a one surface specialist.

I agree, though maybe he thought that he has been to the RG final's twice and needed someone like Muster in his team it was only for 20 weeks to start with, though it did not last.

Nick is the most undertrained player on tour, doubtful he will have much in the tank.

Yeah, he looked totally gassed. I think Courier said it was the longest match of his career. The Nadal match will also be on Laver. Nick's personally requested Melbourne Arena up to this point because of the crowd energy from people with general access park passes. His chances against Nadal are pretty slim IMO.

Muster wasn't very popular on the tour, maybe he's just not easy to gel with.

I thought about the fact that Nick has enjoyed playing on Melbourne Arena and now he'll have to play on Laver. Nick will be up for the match, of course, and the crowd will support him, but if anyone can put the antics out of his mind, for sure it's Rafa, even with their personal animosity. I'd give Nick a chance, but he'll have to get up on Rafa quickly and get it over with fast.

I thought same...that he'd want Muster to help him go up a level for RG. Maybe as @britbox says, Muster is just too hard to like and was a bad fit with the team.

Any thoughts on Cilic v. Raonic? Sandgren v. Fognini?

Cilic has not lose a single point on his serve so far...12 out of 12.

Lol...typical Cilic fashion: He lost two points in his four service games. Then, on his fifth service game, he double-faulted, UFE, UFE, and Forced error to lose the game and 1st set.

Rafa looking much better this round, but PCB's game is made to make Rafa's look good. Rafa just does every thing better.

When was the last time a Spanish Player did not bend over to Ralph?

I think in view of that, we can safely say Ralph won't be biting the trophy here this year.

I did not think he would win anyway even if that was not his path as long as Djokovic is in the final.

I do think he can beat Thiem in the QF but I can see him falling to Medvedev IF Nadal plays a long and physical match against Thiem (more likely).

To start with Nick should consider not visiting Bars till 2 a.m. on the day before the match., like he did in Wimbledon.
