It wasn't that challenging for her to start with. All the heavy hitters and worrisome players were on the other side. Now the only match I see as challenging for her will be the Final. Her QF and SF opponents have not been this deep in a major. But true to her form, she will likely struggle against one of those players and have to go 3 sets in one of those matches because she's making a ton of errors.

To be fair though with Serena on the return, you never know what will trouble her on any given day until she finds her groove. I like the overall direction her game is moving.

This is a good opportunity for Serena. Her half of the draw is decimated.

Serena will now reach SF without facing a single seeded player. The way things are going, she might even win Wimbledon without facing a seeded player. Don't know whether it has ever happened.

And contrary to what Woz believes, Maka does move on to R16 in 3 sets over Lucie.

That interview by Caro ranks up there among all by sore losers. She kept saying her opponent played above her level and there is no way that she can keep up that level. She even told explicitly that her opponent was red lining and got lucky with lot of her shots. I understand Caro is disappointed to go out like this in second round. But, she needs to learn to cool off and accept the defeat.

The way things have shaped on the women’s side if Serena doesn’t grab this title and fight to win it no matter what, then I don’t know what to say. She couldn’t have asked for a nicer way to a Slam title than this Wimbledon. It’s like someone is saying go ahead and match Margaret Court.

Kerbie could emerge in the final from this side, but she'll have to go through a surging Cibby

Kerbie can beat all the other players left on this side (Belinda included). Hseih taking out Simona helps Kerbie greatly as she's lost to Simona the last few times they've played

Would like to Hsieh win the whole thing as she has a lovely game to watch. Failing that I'd like to see Ostapenko, Pliskova or Cibulkova smack Serena out the door and do the sport a favour.

What has Serena done to you? Just curious.

I had never seen her play much. But, saw the highlights of her match against Simona. It is amazing. It looks as though she was performing some kind of magic over there. She was very cool and deciding things at the last minute and shows minimum fuss. If anyone has not seen the highlights of her match, I would strongly recommend that.

While she is able to do regular baseline play as well, this magic looks amazing to watch.

Yup. Really, really great to watch. A shame she's not 10 years younger. At 32 she's nearing the end of her career but very impressive.

Nobody giving Bertens a chance? Pliskova is not good on grass at all. First time she gets this far.
