Claire Liu is the girl's champ of last year. As per tradition Wimby granted her a WC into quals. She won all three matches in the quals and made it to MD. She defeated Ana Konjuh in 1R. That is an impressive performance from an youngster.

Next up Kerbie. Go get her! :pompoms:

Sharapova seems to be playing a taller ova than herself, a rare occurrence.

Seriously, the difference in performance between pre-ban Meldopova and post-ban Meldopova is too high not to attribute most of her success to Meldonium, independent of whether the substance is legal at one time or not.

How many match points does it take for Makarova to win a match.

I guess just one, as long as opponent hits an UFE. :lulz2:

Glad Maka won (and that too with a winner!)

From 5-1 40-15 up, if she had lost that would definitely be nominated for outstanding Choke Job of this tourney.

Now, with the exit of Aga and Caro, the bottom most Octet has zero players in it. This octet is the other half of Serena's Octet in which Madison is the only other seeded player.

Serena was lot sharper in the second match compared to the first one. At this moment, She is clearly the favorite to win the tourney. Simona is too defensive to win on grass. Hard to imagine Garbage winning with the pressure of defending. Pliskobot's movement is serious weakness.

The bottom half wasn’t very loaded, but even Serena has to see how things are shaping up on her side of the draw.

What utter drivel from Wozniacki in her post match interview. You got beaten. Get over it. All this crap about Makrova playing above her level and she couldn't see her sustaining it and going further. She's won doubles here. She knows grass. Have some fucking respect

Chris Evert and McKendry were interviewing Serena in the studio today after the 2nd round win. They did not ask her a single question about Doping agent leaving unsuccessfully from Serena's home. Are they doing journalist job properly?

I did not see a similar interview after 1st Round. I am assuming that there was such an interview and they asked Serena about it. Otherwise, it is simply pandering. Can anyone who saw ESPN studio interview of Serena after 1R confirm that.

My favorite little firecracker will probably go down. Hopefully she's at Cincy for me to drool over
Depends on how she serves. If she puts in alot of 1st serves, I like her chances.
