A massive win for Bertens against the five time champ here. This is a breakthrough in many ways, the way she won this match mentally, a win on grass, a win on a big court at a slam other than RG, agressive tennis, really top notch stuff. She is starting to show her potential now. Great team work also with Sluiter her coach. She used to have huge mental issues in part because her previous coach focused too much on the negative and Sluiter has really been able to turn this around. Maybe she can break top 10 by the end of the year as she does not have that many points to defend.

It wasn't that challenging for her to start with. All the heavy hitters and worrisome players were on the other side. Now the only match I see as challenging for her will be the Final. Her QF and SF opponents have not been this deep in a major. But true to her form, she will likely struggle against one of those players and have to go 3 sets in one of those matches because she's making a ton of errors.
