I think it is embarrassing for the WTA that none of its current top 10 made it to the QF of a Slam.
A bit harsh I think. Bear in mind that Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber are still in the tournament. Injuries and child birth have something to do with this

No. He's right. Serena & Kerbie are ranked outside the top 10 for a reason. The other top 10 folks earned those rankings and did nothing the first week of Wimby.

Julia and Kerbie through in straights. Belinda had her chances, but Kerbie is much tougher mentally since winning slams.

at the very least Serena is a top 10 player but for childbirth. We might say that's a reason, but the reality is that we all know she's top 10. Says more about the rankings than WTA surely?

My comment was on the current top 10. Kerber and Serena are Top 10 caliber players and slam winners, yes, but they are not currently top 10 players. I do think it is an embarrassment that not one of the current top 10 players made it to the QF. Not one!

Serena is back in the top 100. If she can make it to the SF or better here, then she should be seeded for the US Open. I am hoping for a win because that will put her in the top 20 after Wimbledon, I believe and tie her with Court.

Tignor picks Cibby, Kerbie and Rena. I agree with him in all three matches.

But, he left out the most difficult match, Kiki Vs. Gorgeous. My head says Kiki will win, but my heart wants Gorgeous to win.

Nope. Osta books her spot in the SF's first

Wow. I am now a fan of Kasatkina. She lost, but what a fun and dynamic player.
Isn't she fun? She's quite a little shotmaker. Just needs to work on her serve. It makes her beatable every time she steps to the line. And she's quite a volatile player when things aren't going her way. If she can learn to turn that emotion to her advantage instead of imploding, she'll win many slams even against the big hitters.

Dasha might have lost. But, she won my heart  and tha too not just by looks. She is lot more interesting player to watch than the typical prototype mindless ball bashing WTA girls.
