Regarding the time violations and the lack of a shot clock, I think the entire 20-25 second rule is utter BS. I've been watching tennis for a long time and that is an innocuous rule that was never enforced. One only has to look at any older match to see that the guys took their time, stopping, getting drinks, and arguing at the baseline, not to mention holding the game up to dispute calls.
Secondly, at one point they put a shot clock on the TV and quickly abandoned it because they found that the majority of the tour went over the time limit.
And last but not least, if anyone was guilty of time wasting it was Maria; walking to the back of the court, standing at the baseline tucking her hair behind her ear and doing whatever she pleased. I don't recall her getting time violations, ever. So, stop with the bull crap. It's nothing more than a witch hunt.
