Got to be tough for Cilic to recover after that.

Roger missed a golden opportunity last game. But he's playing the better tennis this set.

Great game to break there. Now serving for an incredible comeback.

What a comeback by Roger! Cilic proves once again that the USO was a fluke.

Incredible. As I mentioned, the man still is full of surprises. I just couldn't picture him coming back from 2 sets down at age 35 after an injury filled year. If it was a couple years ago sure but with everything going against him it's amazing.

Balls of steel to even get it to the 4th set TB. From there it was tense. Slop and brilliance from both in the TB, but he found a way.

cilic was 'in the zone' first 2 sets, his serve and groundstrokes were redolent of uso2014 era..but his level slowly declined, errors crept in,

federers serve came back after slumping in tb and 2nd set, and some classic bh winners and ace's late on..means....

another sf showdown with mr maple leaf missile himself..meeeeeeeeelosh. :-)2

When he missed that easy backhand to set up for the break back in the second I was sure the match was lost. When he lost the first set point on his serve on the breaker on the fourth, I was sure the match was lost again.

A few guys would be able to turn this match around. Apart from a few points here and there, Cilic played great. And before someone start saying things without having seen the match, it is not that Cilic wasted the MP´s. Federer played (and served) well those points and shut the door on him.

don't know what match you've been watching but this Cilic was playing at a level that would've beaten anyone, and should've run Fed over in straight. Fed was LUCKY, he was toasted and helpless until he hung on long enough for Cilic to drop his level slightly.

exactly, Fed should've lost. There is no doubt who the better player in this match was, it's just that he didn't win.

I'm not talking about his level as much as his lack of a champion's mentality. As you say, he should have won that match in straights, or else not have lost heart when Fed staged a comeback. He's no lionheart.

Meantime, great job by Andy to take that really long tough first set.
