With Kiki Bertens' retirement, only Karolina Pliskova No2 can overtake No1 Osaka in Paris.

Osaka clinches the No1 ranking,if she makes the final

Pliskova can take the No1 by making the final, but if Osaka makes the SF,then Pliskova must win the title.

What happens if they both go out before SF? Naomi retains right?

Collins/Barty and Naomi/Vika are the most interesting to me. I think Naomi and Ash will take it, but Collins is a bit of an enigma. Had a great AO and on the rise.

Just switched to Eurosport 2 and see Vika is in total control, 2 games away from the win, 4:3 and she has a serve.

Osaka levels it up at a set apiece. Just seen Sabalenka is a casualty and Sakkari in trouble (already saved a match point)

Osaka held her long service game and Azarenka didn't. Made all the difference. Osaka really gives impression of a true champion, so hard to crack her in a slam.

Osaka is showing here that she's not one of these fly by night number 1s. To do this to Azarenka a flat out killa is very impressive. This is what the genuine champions do. Not saying she'll win the whole thing, but it's fascinating that she's different gravy in the slams
