I think they want to stay with tradition and have separate days....having both finals on Sunday is a better outcome.Held on a Monday could cause problems for people who have already have tickets for finals and may not be able to come on a Monday a work day.

Here are the current plans
They plan to schedule both semifinals on different courts (SL and SM) on Friday. As rain is expected on Friday, it will affect both matches equally and so both the finalists will have same recovery time. They plan to play the finals on Saturday. Of course, the top half girls would have to play three days in a row, in that case.
