Iga Swiatek takes the 1st set against Coco Gauff 62. Iga has won 16 of the 18 sets she's played against Coco. 1 set away from the Beijing final

Rybakina has a lot of work ahead of herself vs Samsonova who is serving lights out and is crushing the ball at the moment..I think she is gonna have to weather THIS storm. Looking at Samsonova who really has a nice muscular body , pretty perfect for a tennis player.

Nope the storm was too great for Rybakina.. Samsonova is a very bad matchup for Elena. It happens , sometimes playing against certain opponents, the ball seems so large and big where you feel like you CAN'T miss. Well Samsonova hit 33 winners and served over 74 percent. Nothing Rybakina could have done today because she had ONLY 13 UFEs. Great win and I would pick her to upset IGA

Elena committed DFs to hand the match to Samsonova, they were both holding their serves well through out the match.
Samsonova is now 4-0 against Elena, winning the SF 76(7) 63
2nd 1000 final of 2023
3rd top 10 win of the year

Coco Gauff ( right shoulder)
Elena Rybakina ( low back)
Karolina Muchova ( right wrist) withdrew after the draw was made WTA500 Zhengzhou. Their positions in the draw were taken by the next seeded players without byes.
