OMG I left to go for a run because the match between Haddad Maia vs Putintseva was 'doing my head in"
Haddad Maia was serving for the match 5-4 amd she could not serve it out with 1000000000000000 AD points she was broken it went to a tb she was leading 4-1 and collapsed Putinstseva won the tb 76(5) and now they are in another t/break in the final set.
Well Haddad Maia did a 'Harry Houdini' and defeated Putintseva 64 67(5) 76(4)...........finally!

Bencic and Zheng she hasnt dropped a set to get to the SF.I actually thought Rybakina would be in the SF, oh well lol!

She reached the end of recovery - this time - against Petra Martic. Still a good fight Clara was behind 0-4 in second set but came back on level. So promising fight which I think will help her climbing back in top 100. Martic played almost flawless so congrats to her. By this qf Clara Tauson jumped 14 spots in the rankings 141 to 127.

She has to get a good draw otherwise it will be bad day at the office.Her win at the Open is now looking more like a fluke with each passing day.I think the money came too soon and doesn't seem to have the hunger for the game.I hope she won't end up like Laura Robson,and a career riddled with injuries and excuses.

Another good performance from Belinda Bencic in the SFs at Abu Dhabi, defeating Beatriz Haddad Maia 62 63, Belinda is into her 2nd final of the season, Belinda is 11-2 in 2023.
Belinda will play either Zheng Qinwen or Liudmila Samsonova in the final

On the strength of a early break in the other SF in Abu Dhabi, Samsonova held on and won the 1st set against Zheng 64, this was the 1st set Zheng has dropped all tournament. Zheng has turned the match around and won the 2nd set 61, going 3 sets.
