Congratulations to Marie Bouzkova winning her maiden WTA title on home soil in Prague defeating A. Potapova 60 63!

Congratulations to Caroline Garcia winning her 9th WTA title, and her second in a five week span defeating A. Bogdan 64 61 in Poland

Prague champion Marie Bouzkova has withdrawn from the Citi Open, Emma Raducanu will now open against either a qualifer or lucky loser.

I would have gone for Bouzkova over Potapova, she was a q/finalist at Wimbledon this year.
Again yup, a bad choice. I was thinking first Czech at home with the home support but then reading lots of different opinions and rightly so that players often choke at home events but she was clearly the more in form player.

Apparently Dmitry Tursnov wont be with Emma Raducanu in Toronto next week, has he had preexisting commitments.,as Radaucanu said he is on a trial basis and it wont be continuous.

Media already trying to stir it up, Emma having a Russian coach... Hope Emma has a good tournament!

I’m kind of disappointed that Serena is in DC with Venus, and they aren’t at least playing doubles. It would be nice for her to get some match play in before the Canadian Open.

Well Serena had a practice session yesterday in DC, with Venus, she is playing 2 tournaments before USO. Venus and Serena might team up at the USO for doubles

Question M, Is Vee the only female that Serena practices with? I hope not and I hope it players like Ons and other that can give her more variety of pace of strokes.

I think she went to DC to support her sister Venus, they had a practice session together yesterday, earlier today at 8.00am Serena had a practice session, I watched via video on Twitter, it was male at the other end of the court.
BTW Ons is playing at the San Jose tournament

Serena needs to be playing in San Jose if she wants to win the USO Championship early next month.. Imo

Serena is playing Toronto and Cinncy, before USO I feel that is enough, at least she is not going into the USO without not playing a warm up tournament before a Major

We are going to agree to disagree on this one. Serena needs more tournaments not commercial endorsements. What happens if she looses the first round in Toronto and Cincy? Do you think that will be sufficient preparation to win the USO? (this is not an argument but just an observation of a player that has played about 4-6ompetitive matches in the past 12 months. )

Well given her age I feel Serena playing 2 warm up tournaments is enough before the USO, quite frankly I cannot see Serena winning the USO, she will use her protected ranking of 16 at the USO.There are rumors this will be her final tournament before retirement, I guess we shall see.

In regards to the coaching of Naomi Osaka who sacked her team just recently, will not be going coachless during the Summer HC season.Osaka has brought back her father, Leonard Francois, who served as her primary coach until the 2018, season, back into the fold.

Nice to see Taylor Townsend at the San Jose tournament win her first WTA single victory since being on maternity leave, winning in straight sets 61 64 against Storm Sanders.
