I've not left the building, but waiting for Clara Tauson reappearing on the tennis scene. She's had backproblems since Miami but ready to fight again. First tournament will be in Washington and then she's 6th on the alternate list for a Cincy appearence and then US Open. Now I've been following Jonas Vingegaard on his way to win Tour de France - over 3 minutes in front and only 2 stages left - 40km timetravel and the show tour into Paris. Have a nice weekend.

Warsaw is the final clay event on the WTA Tour calendar in 2022,
Iga Swiatek is back on her favorite surface clay and in her home event in Poland.Iga is the only Top 40 player in the field, her next highest opponent is Sara Sorribes Tormo.

In Prague, Barbora Krejcikova is joined by Top seed Anett Kontaveit on the hard court.Corner, Bouzkova, Mertens, Potapova are also in action.

I'm watching this exho w/ Coco/Kenin and Coco is showing no mercy to the girl. She's taking this match very seriously. Too bad she didn't play like this against Iga at RG in a real match.

I expect Serena will show up at one HC warmup to either play singles or doubs and then ask for a WC to USO. But she'll wait until right before the warmup starts to announce it.
Sane as before, one tune up is not the proper route to win or to be very competitive in a GS at her age. Let's say she draws an qualifier during the first couple of rounds, that's a player who has probably played 3-4 competitive matches whereas Serena is coming off the street "cold" if she goes out early during the HC warmer up. e.g.the little pusher she played at SW19..

It works for Rafa, Novak and even Roger because they practice against the same type of hitters (men) pre tournament. Serena mostly practices against her hitting coach and maybe Vee..Vee still has game but she isn't going to hit with the slice and spin that players like Ons and SST can. IMO.

I have read that Pera joined an exclusive group of only five Americans to have won two clay court tournaments in the 2000s. I remember seeing the names Capriati, Seles, Serena and I am missing one, maybe Venus or Davenport but either way that is an incredible accomplishment.

After splitting with Sasha Bajin, Karolina Pliskova has teamed up with Leos Friedl, who stepped in last year at the USO when Sasha Bajin had visa issues on board. As yet no information if this is a permanent coaching arrangement
Madison should be offering to help pay his coaching fees plus his Visa issues fees . Maybe Sasha and a couple of head shrinks can rejuvenate her career before it gets too late.

Max Wenders, 26 year old Dutchman, who has worked with several players on the WTA has been banned for 12 years from professional tennis after pleading guilty to a number of match fixing charges.Wenders has been a hitting partner for Jelena Ostapenko, briefly worked with Anett Kontaveit and most notably coached doubles specialist Demi Schuurs. He is the former boy friend of former world No 4 player Sofia Kenin.

Another coaching change for Emma Raducanu who will team up with Russian Dmitry Tursunov as she prepares to defend her US Open title next month.Tursunov previously coached Kontaveit and Sabalenka.
Tursunov will be with Emma as she returns to action next week at the Citi Open.
Depending on how Emma fares on the HC, Tursunov maybe a permanent coaching arrangement

Iga back on track playng the last clay tournament. SO homeground to find her aggressive play again after the flaw in Wimbledon. Good enough to win Warshaw - yes.

What is wrong w/ this girl? You can't change coaches every time you lose a match. At some point you have to look at yourself as the issue. She turning into another Pliskobot.

I have read her father controls a lot of who coaches Emma, I hope he is not one of these 'tennis parents' to me it appears that way.
Emma has had some excellent coaches, eg Jamie Delgado, maybe she is difficult and has high expectations, though at the end of the day a coach can only do so much, it is up to you,on court, to take control of a match or not.
