Kristina Mladenovic has announced she's ending her 2021 season to rest and recover for 2022.
"The last few months have been very challenging both physically and mentally and I feel now is the right time to take a break".

I hope AP wont read that Darren Cahill will be available for coaching a new player,he will probably want Darren to coach Madison Keys:)
Madison needs to become a discipline player before she gets too many nagging injuries.. Cahill or Kamau Murray would be great for her.. Madison Keys needs to admit to herself that her tennis mind is not calm enough to be a champion. Keys doesn't have the raw talent like Serena's mentality to figure out how to overcome her opponents.

Madison's game to me is very one dimensional, she hasn't expanded or added any variety to her game,if her A game isn't working she hasn't a B game.Quite frankly at this stage of her career I do not know if Cahill or Murray could help, unless she was prepared to expand her game, out of the 2 coaches mentioned I would take Cahill any time over Murray.

Let's be real, no one has Serena's mentality. That blend of fight, perseverance and tennis smarts can't be taught. Look how long she stayed at the top of the game. That kind of dominance is not likely to happen again for a very long time. We have people who can win slams now, but no one w/ the mental fortitude to rule the tour like she did.

True. Madison thought she could be like Sharapova (heck ,she even hired a long time coach TH) by having a B plan which was the same as the A PLAN but hit the ball harder. Coaching is not her problem, it's between the ears. Tossip said she was a brainless ball basher and so far, Madison has done zero to not warrant that aspect of her game.

This is the time for Madison to get her shit together.. Sorry but there's not a better adjective or euphemism to describe her situation.. Everyone has issues but Mugu and there have been way too many first time grandslam champions recently..Keys has got to know her career has been a complete exercise of futility..There's not one player on the tour besides Serena and Naomi that has as many weapons. In essence, that's where her problems lie, she relies on knowing she can basically blast anyone off the court with a single strike but that's not how to win grand slams because these ladies are too good of athletes to let her beat with that one track mindset.

There has been no more word from Emma on this subject, just saying she wants a coach with more pro tour experience, maybe she is putting out feelers? hoping a coach of Cahill's experience contacts her
BTW Emma has become the House Ambasador at Tiffany's...not a bad gig if you can get it.:)
House Ambassador of Tiffany's.....hmmmm. Sounds like a job Maria Sharapova may have held, or at least wanted, back in her hay day. You are so right - not a bad gig if you can get it!

Breaking News,

Aryna Sabalenka ,who had been set to be the top seed at WTA Indian Wells, tested positive for COVID there and will not be playing.
( Sabalenka has been vocally skeptical of coronavirus vaccines).

Sad to hear, but I wonder who is the "next in" into the women's draw???? I am sure some player is happy not to have to play qualifying.....

I wonder if Cahill is even remotely interested. He may be tired of traveling and want to stay w/ his family for awhile. Hmm...
