I was worried Rafa was going to tank instead of facing the winner of Vesely/Kyrgios.

Someone should warn Kukushkin that you are allowed to volley and/or go to the net.

Here's an interesting stat: Since 2011 Australian Open, once Nadal reaches the second week of a Slam, he's went on to reach the final.

We will see if he can continue that trend.

That is interesting.

Here's another one: Every time he has made it to the second week of Wimbledon, he has reached the final.

Believe me, I scream at the tv all the time saying the same thing! That's why I say today's players are unwatchable! They're so afraid of volleying it's scary! Nadal's put of the defensive, floats some weak shot back, and all these idiots allow it to bounce to restart the point! They're all pathetic! :nono :puzzled

Well, this year will probably be the toughest test yet. He has Raonic or Nishikori in his Quarter then of course Federer as a potential semifinal opponent.

Good in theory, but generally suicidal in practice to give Nadal a regular target at the net. Better used as a change up IMO.

Play is still suspended on the outer courts. This could make Monday a big headache.

Nishikori is the only one in there who gives me pause. Raonic just isn't that good on grass, especially his movement, and we all know how long it's been since Roger has beaten Rafa in a best-of-five set match.

Also, the players outside Nadal and Federer could potentially play three straight days just to reach the semifinals. Not a good combination especially if you are facing Nadal or Federer in a Slam.

So we have to endure Sharapova now :( The rain delays are really gonna screw the scheduling big time.

Even though Raonic's movement on grass is not spectacular, he still has the big serve to count on. Knowing Nadal especially this week, it could potentially be a very tricky match.

As for Federer, although Federer has not beaten Nadal in Slam in 7 years, he is still Roger Federer especially at grass.

Right now, I will be cautiously optimistic about Nadal :)

Do you think Kubot has a chance against Raonic?

In my opinion, Murray should be the favorite :)

Murray has been untested thus far. I'd like to see how he navigates through Anderson and Dimitrov before I'd say that.

I'd prefer Nishikori over Raonic any day of the week. Had it been another surface, I wouldn't be that worried. Nadal can expose Raonic's movement easily, but he really risks not getting a sniff on his serve and I'm not confident Rafa is serving well enough to not get broken throughout.

I wish Nadal would actually take cues from his return of serve positioning on grass and take that to other surfaces.

Yes, but a slim one. Kubot needs to find a way to break Raonic's serve. If he can't find a way, then he would not win the match.

Don't forget how good a serve Nishikori has too when he's playing well.

Agreed, Murray's path starts getting a little loaded here on in.
