I was listening to Uncle Toni and he was saying the matches go too quickly on the grass courts. He's encouraged Ralf to drop the first set of each match until he gets to the quarters.

Really, that can't be true right? Why not drop the third? You are giving somebody a lot of confidence in their game.

Yeah, but to run off three straight after losing the first sufficiently kills any false confidence that was gained.

Way to take the fun out it.

Rafa will steamroll Kuku from here, but what a lame hour of play from him. Just finding his range.

I used to like Rafa's backhand but these days, it looks like just a shot to keep the rally going. Has it regressed or am I making it up? The way it is today, I would not put it in top 10 best backhands in men's tennis.

His opponent was hitting at full power and it didn't help he was hitting very flat too.

In the other hand, Rafa's ROS has been the best he has done in forever...especially the backhand

Note the career W/L on grass.

Yep. Kuku was not the one in the draw that I thought would have troubled Ralf - at all.

Well his backhand's looking a bit better now, probably took him a set to get used to playing under the roof, good practice for him later. He played a horrible tiebreaker though.

I still think mentally Nadal is passive during the first set. In my opinion, he just needs to rip some shots in the first couple just to release some tension out there.

For the first time in three years, he's made it into week two. Everything changes from here. From here on out he should be the favorite.

Even though I am a huge Nadal fan, I don't think he should be the favorite. I know he is a different player in week 2 but he is still not playing that well right now.

In my opinion, Murray should be the favorite :)
