No offense to Djokovic fans. But I feel something is lacking in his game right now in Wimbledon as compared to that Novak we saw in French open. may be consistency or many UE...does any1 feel the same?
I hope he picks up soon since the draw is nicely opened up for him...

I watched the first and second set against Niemenen and he played quite well (imo). He lost his first service game, then focused and got down to business. Net game looked good. Approaches were solid. Ground game was sound.

His service was better than in his first match. He has a tendency to almost seem as though he's falling into the court, dropping his shoulder along the way - it's ugly and the ball hits somewhere in the middle of the net. He was doing that a lot against Kohli and I saw little of that yesterday.

Consider this: he'd been off for three weeks, and only back to playing tennis ten days prior to the beginning of Wimbledon. He should be up and running by week two.

Djoker skiped all from RG. He always start bit rusty, but in 2-3 matches he is on level. I just hope he worked some on energy level, he ran out of gas in RG.

Draw

In ATP even though 8 seeds lost, 5 of them are at the very bottom. In WTA, it is always all over the place. At least Rafa earns the distinction of being the highest seeded player to be upset so far.

I think the guys have done a great job with just a couple who barely survived at least once like Berdych! :nono

True! The Big Four haven't dropped a single set among them in the first two rounds have they? Another Djoko-ManlyStan and a red hot Murray-Federer semifinals would be amazing.

Here's something to note. One of James Ward, Vasek Pospisil, Victor Troicki, or Dustin Brown will reach the Quarterfinals, presumably to meet Andy Murray.

Are everyone's quarterfinal picks for the Challenge pretty much destroyed yet? :snicker

Fascinating listening to the British press. They are completely ignoring Federer and talking about a Murray Novak final which they believe Andy will win. Words fail me

LOL How can they overlook a 7-time champ who is seeded No. 2? Has that ever happened before? That semifinal between Murray and Federer is going to be a cracker. Really hoping it happens.

You're kidding right? :cover - I know the world has its reverence for Federer, but we can't possibly expect Britain to "bow & scrape" to "The GOAT" with "their own" in the running to take Wimbledon! The only way for Roger to truly make news is if he manages to actually take out Andy in the semi! On current form I don't see it happening! They've had their contest in the past on grass and when Murray's playing his best, Roger's the most vulnerable of the top players; SORRY! I know it's sacrilege to even think such a thing, but that's the way it is right now! It's sorta like Serena being shocked the crowd today was giving due deference to their girl Heather Watson! :puzzled :nono  :dodgy: - It's hard to ignore the current #1 player; esp. since he's won just about everything this season! The final everyone wants is Djkovic/Murray! Roger's just thought of as a speed-bump in England this time around! :p :ras:

Fiero, I don't know what you've been smokin' but it sure doesn't smell like logic! ;) Come on! If Federer continues this easy march thru the draw, his match with Murray could be very interesting. Now if he struggles in beating Murray in a long match, then Djokovic won't have too much trouble with him. Or the same with Murray if Berdych gives him trouble in the quarters.

So these "tomato cans" Roger's beaten so far has impressed you huh? I guess more than one of us is smokin' something! :snicker :puzzled :nono - Džumhur and Querrey are WORLD beaters in your eyes with Groth and Basilashvili/Bautista Agut winner before Murray! I must have missed their rise to power! :cover :nono  :ras: - Nole and Murray are actually beating players that "have game," are on winning streaks, and playing well; esp. Kohlshreiber! :clap

Fiero, Kirijax's point is relevant. Roger isn't really as dismissible as you make him out to be. He is the greatest active grass-courter, one the best all-time, and last year's finalist. An easy run to the QFs benefits him, at 33. No one is denying that. But his form is looking very good. Yes, potential land mines, but it's not like he hasn't got a legit shot. You seem to love a narrative of "what is now" and "what was then," and you've pushed Roger out of it. That doesn't really address the actual tournament that is in front of us. I'll be honest to say that I don't think Roger will win another Slam, but I wouldn't be so cavalier as to put it out of the realm of possibility, or to sneer completely on Fed's chances.

Understood, but I deal in "absolutes" to stir the pot and get reactions I can save along with my "manifesto posts" I think others might like to reference! Been doing it for years! :dodgy:

Why would anyone want to reference back to your manifestos? Dealing in "absolutes" and stirring the pot isn't actually conversation. Seriously, can you say, with specific reasoning and not emoticons, why Federer isn't a reasonable contender for this Wimbledon? (Remember to talk about tennis, not platitudes, and no emoticons are allowed. I'd be curious if you can do that.)
