I don't think it was funny and entertaining for his opponents :s :dodgy: :-/

Have you ever seen how quickly the loser walks off the court? He was gone ages before Novak started dancing and even if he wasn't, the guy has respect for the world number 1 and despite how you feel about this, I can assure you his opponent was not expecting to win in the first place so it made no difference and may have even made him smile and not think about losing, when again, he expected to lose anyway.

Seriously, this is wrong on so many levels. Players happy after a defeat? You're defending this crass behavior by Novak? Have you been watching tennis long? Do you know of any other great player in history who would dance with the ballkids while wearing a golliwog wig, and their defeated opponent was still courtside?

Like I say, he didn't dance after Rafa dispatched him the semi. The po' kids came over and asked him, "please Mr Djokovic, can we dance now?" and he told them, "feck off you spoilt rich western brats, I'm not in the mood!"

You think Istomin gave a sh1t? As with the prior video Carol posted, these guys don't expect to beat him anyway so it likely put a smile on their faces. You Nadal fans are so bitter these days, it's unreal. Lighten up. Novak wasn't celebrating wins against the mighty Mayer or Istomin he was merely having a laugh.

See, the problem with this is, if Rafa did this, you'd be all over him. FACT: it was disrespectful to his defeated opponents. I realise it was a lapse and he's never done it since, but just because Rafa fans are pointing it out, you're defending it, and even justifying it by saying it probably made the poor diddums who lost happier in defeat... :cover

I'm saying their opponents likely didn't give a damn about it, only you and Carol and probably umpteen other bitter Nadal fans. FACT: these guys don't expect to beat the world number 1 and they've seen his silly antics online before and have seen him do impersonations of famous players so they really do not care one iota and were probably amused by a player with a bit of character rather than all the boring robots out there. I'm still saying it made them happier in defeat, yes. To think they wouldn't at least smile is just being bitter and overly negative.

Nope, you don't remember well but I do, his opponent was still there when Novak started to dance and I can assure you that ANY player wants to win and to beat to anyone, it doesn't matter to the #1 or the # 70 and that's why they are traveling all the world and many of them spending a lot of money on flights, hotels, etc etc, they are not playing just for fun, they have a lot more ego than than

That's not character. It's crass and disrespectful. Character is toughing out results when your back is to the wall. You know as well as me, there isn't a single great player of similar stature to Nole who'd have done this. It was embarrassing to watch, and undignified. Can you see Sampras doing that? Borg? Rafa? Lendl? Connors? Federer?

If Rafa did this, you'd be all over him. You know it, and I do too...

I never said they didn't want to win I said they didn't expect to win. Big difference. And I've already described above that I don't for one second think they cared one bit about it and it likely made them smile. You're multiple posts behind.

I wouldn't because he's boring and would never do this. We're not talking about character during matches here clearly. All of the guys above there are boring btw, including Federer.

This is boring - and embarrassing. If I busted a gut out there in a match and the winner began cavorting about in a golliwog wig straight after, I'd call him an ar$ehole and put a stop to that straight away...

Excuse moi, who is bitter? who is posting on this thread ( and others threads) just to say negative comments about Nadal?
And yes, it was ugly to dance after those wins but why he didn't after to lose? then his opponent had to been dancing :nono

You always fail to realize it's you who starts these things. You did the same on multiple threads in the past and then said it wasn't you who started it. I didn't mention a word about Nadal, it was Kieran, a Nadal fan who started it and mentioned him here. Get your facts right. You posted a video of Djokovic dancing after he beat Mayer and a Nadal fan took it from there. I merely replied to this Nadal fan that I saw nothing wrong with it. You are the bitter one here as is Kieran. There's nothing bitter in me saying I didn't find Djokovic's dancing offensive. Silly yes, offensive, no. Read the Nadal fans comments since you posted that video and you'll see who is bitter.

Bitter about what? This literally makes no sense. It's only a cheap partisan shot because you're realise you're wrong to defend this, and by the way, although I criticise it completely, I did say it's a lapse he hadn't repeated. So, bitter about what? That Rafa beat Novak in the semis and put a stop to this crass display? We're bitter about this? Believe me bro, if you lost a tennis match and the other bloke started this sh1te in front of you, I'd love to see you laugh and lap it up... :cover

I don't start anything, I just simple respond to the negative comments which are the first ones to show around here.
This is a Nadal's thread about if he will win more tournaments or not and I've just read negative comments of some of you including his win over Fog and his way to celebrate, so I get my facts right, I'm tired to read always bad things about him when there are a bunch of bad things about others players, as simple as that

Obviously you don't think it's appropriate for a champion to behave like that. He wasn't out there dancing with the kids to rub it in the face of the guy that lost. He was out there dancing with the kids. It may not be your cup of tea, but those little kids had fun.

Serena had him dancing with her to Night Fever at the Champions Ball. I imagine that's not in line with proper decorum either. She probably never would have suggested the idea to Fedal, but she knew Nole would be up for it.

I agree with you that character is how you respond when your back is up against the wall. Being a character is probably what Front was getting at.

My comments were realistic, not negative. His opponent in the Hamburg final hit 15 games of unforced errors (60). His reacted like he won a slam. End of story.

Everything has the moment to dance and to make jokes
In tennis there are the Exhebitions, parties, presentations, commercials, etc etc, then it seems to be more fun

I would say forced errors. Fog probably felt very happy looking how the best clay player of the history reacted after to beat him. End of story
