Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, and India. Let's start there. Are millions of people dealing with the hives in those places?
OK. let's start with Khazakstan.

Of course, things aren't sequential, but Khazakstan has just confirmed it's first three cases today. What good timing!

Damn shame it wasn't the Washington Post reporting this.

Kazakhstan has already pre-emptively moved to shut down schools, colleges and universities from next week and cancel all public events.

WOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!! 3 cases??????

They should completely shut down commerce until August at least.
Give it time Cali. You know most countries aren't even testing right?

But my question to you is who decided to shut down borders or schools? Was that a memo from the Washington Post? Were Hillary or Obama in town, or Mike Pence? Because surely the most important issue facing Khazaks right now, is Donald Trump's re-election, right?

So what? This argument is ridiculous. So we are supposed to shut down the global economy because people have a disease that is so weak and impotent that they don't even know they have it?

But my question to you is who decided to shut down borders or schools?

Thousands of people who are overreacting.

Was that a memo from the Washington Post?

The Washington Post has been central in establishing an international consensus that the coronavirus is utterly ferocious, potent, and unprecedented. And on the basis of that consensus policy has followed.

Were Hillary or Obama in town, or Mike Pence?

People who adore Hillary and Obama control the international news cycle and if either of them were president I assure you that we would not be hearing the same degree of hysteria. We know this from 2009 when the media were very calm about swine flu.

Because surely the most important issue facing Khazaks right now, is Donald Trump's re-election, right?

The Kazakhs are just following an international fashion at the moment to cancel everything. It is mind-numbingly stupid but this is one of those cases of "everyone's doing it."

Ah, so the Kazakhs are in cahoots with the Washington Post too now? Five minutes ago, they were your poster boys for independent thinking.

Maybe, you could try the Faroe Islands next... although going by what you have stated, I suspect reporters from the Washington Post are already in contact with government officials.

Just read that Inida has closed down malls, cinema halls, gyms and swimming pools in several major cities until March 30th. India has
so far only 83 confirmed cases, but again it is due to lack of testing and resources.

This is an interesting watch. Cali might take notice of what this guy is saying because he's been writing about this since long before Trump was in power.

Oh yeah, I am really being "anti-fact" by pointing out how the numbers for swine flu in 2009 dwarfed what is going on with coronavirus but the New York Times and Washington Post at that time did not try to bring the global economy to a standstill because their god was in the White House.

That is so anti-fact. It is really anti-fact of me to point out that 12,500 Americans died from swine flu without Indian Wells and the NCAA Tournament being cancelled. So anti-fact
I posted a video some time ago. But it's clear you would prefer to rave than actually look at comparisons. I hope you're not this dumb, but just in case you are it behoves me to point out the obvious.... you can't compare the total numbers for swine flu epidemic thru it's more than one year life to corona virus that's barely just begun. Do you really doubt that by the time this pandemic has existed for as long the numbers won't be greater? Again I say to you watch the video I posted.

And then re: your Obama critique... I leave you with this.... and imagine me dropping the mike...

This is quite a fascinating read on an interpretation of how the UK Government is dealing with COVAD-19.

It makes a lot of sense it many respects, especially considering the Spanish Flu Pandemic was based on 3+ waves of infection.

Risky though and Very Politically Risky.

yes I heard about it. It's incredibly dangerous! Do we even know for sure that those who have been infected do become immune? And what happens if the rate of mutation suddenly accelerates then it could be all for naught

I'm not a medic mate, but I'd assume you become immune to that strain. Sure, the thing will mutate but you have some immunity to its successors. If you're playing the long game then it seems like a fairly reasonable approach.

As it stands, we're all pretty clueless. If you asked me to back a horse, then I'd probably take a punt on following UK guidance. I'd expect to get it myself (not certain I haven't got it already tbh) and expect to survive fairly easily... and then look back at the "at-risk numbers". Frankly, I'm already fed up with morons turning this into political capital.
