The curve seems to be flattening in NY. While death toll numbers are high right now, new admissions to ICU are down. The death toll reflects exposures from a couple of weeks ago. The lessening of admissions to hospital and ICU reflects the affect of social distancing and self-quarantine, according to a report I heard today. They think we're doing better than expected at flattening the curve. Fingers crossed.

if reinfection is possible then this will sink the markets... but we can't be sure yet. It could have been faulty initial testing

I think it's possible that they hadn't sufficiently recovered or the testing wasn't conclusive... at least you'd hope that's the case. The alternative is a nightmare.

It seems that the higher propensity for case fatalities in minority communities is not unique to the United States. I would very much like to see the data based on wealth groupings, not just racial composition to see if the answer is poverty related...

compare that to the macro data...

Lol, yeah.. time to move out of that zone... and a plague of locusts on your "Cats got your tongue" mind teaser.

Happy Easter folks, very restricted for most no doubt. Make the best of it!
Happy Easter!

I'm having a very good 1 doing my archiving homework which is fascinating. I had to take a break from all the sad news & hard work which came with it so I got on with something else I needed to do to perk me up a bit. I hope you're having a good 1 too.

But if you have the ethnic relation then don’t you have also the poverty relation automatically?

Interesting story out of France here.....Macron met with Dr. Didier Raoult.

Macron meets with controversial chloroquine doctor touted by Trump
Didier Raoult defends a controversial treatment for the coronavirus.

Yeah the French put their hopes into Resochin, the German are buying Avigan massively.
Funny fact: Till today Bayer Leverkusen is producing Chloroquine only in one location in Pakistan:rolleyes:.

How lucky the Pharma Mobsters could be.

if you want to confirm causality then you have to get the data. For example, what are case fatalities amongst the sub-group of minorities who are wealthy? If they are similar to non-minorities then it starts to look less like an ethnic issue and more like poverty no?

sure , if sample size of the sub group is big enough. Otherwise it’s non significant. But I would not be surprised if data shows similarity.

there are lots of very wealthy minorities in the UK. Personally I avoid making assumptions about causality until I see evidence ;)

Ok ok , I got it. But logical assumptions are allowed ;) .
Are there really so much wealthy minorities in the UK? How about their number in comparison/addition to other developed countries ?
Think you will get your data sooner or later.
