Monday's Results!

Round 1
I Karlovic (CRO) bt (10) G Simon (FRA) 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3
(13) D Goffin (BEL) bt Y Lu (TPE) 5-7, 6-3, 6-4
J Janowicz (POL) bt (14) G Monfils (FRA) 6-4, 7-5
...
J Sock (USA) bt B Fratangelo (USA) 6-1, 6-2

So Bjorn is gone already! So much for all the hype! Handled by SOCK! :cover :nono  :dodgy:

Come on he is a young chap ranked 106 who has probably never even played in an ATP event before. You expect him to take a set off Sock, who is an established top 50 player.

I like Krygios and Kokki..they are not politically correct and stir the pot.I am tired of this vanilla men s tour where everybody loves each other and they say thank you madam or thank you sir...just a bunch of fake playerss.I love that these young Aussies get in your face and gives us entertainment, tired of Jokovic and Murray matches....
go Nick and Thanasis!

Fake players? Young Aussies get in your face? Tell me, how old are you? There are plenty of those vile reality shows that bring out the worst in people. There is no need to search for that in a professional sport. Don't you adore the self control that some of the pros have? I don't know what to say about this.

Not to speak about that I have never heard Fratangelo hyped before. I don<t know what Fiero refers to.

If mentioned out of 64 players here and in the press; it's hype! lol! :p :ras:

Much to the relief of Kokk, Gasquet is a set and break up over Nick.

Gasquet won. Kyrgios out, he will not be seeded at the USO (at Wimbledon he was).

The 2 youngest top 100 players on tour, Coric and Zverev play each other.
First time they play on the main tour, as juniors they met at the USO in a SF, match won by Coric.

Do you think Zverev has finished growing? He is just 18, I am not convinced he cannot grow some more. I do not like his posture, not strong enough.

:puzzled
Hope he doesn't grow any taller. At his 6'6" he will already have enough trouble.

I'm not a fan of the way Coric continues his grunt until his opponent hits the ball (ala Ferrer and Nadal)

Chardy seems to be continuing his good form. First set under raps and up a break in the 2nd.

Morning to everyone on the wrong side of the planet. I see Gasquet has spared us the circus of a Kokkinakis vs. Kyrgios match. Personally, I'm very thankful we don't have to sledge through...I mean sludge through that. :cover
Kind of tells you what kind of year Dimitrov is having when I'm slightly surprised he was able to beat Pospisil. :snicker
Isner flameout on schedule? Querrey knocks Isner out early.
Whoa. Verdasco knocks out Tsonga? Verdasco is the worst guy to get for a first round I think.
Coric wins the future Glam Slam final match up against Zverev.

Coric is very lucky; down 0-3 in the TB and survived 5-4 with Zverev serving for it in the 3rd set! :cover :nono

Tsonga, Isner and Kyrgios out? I'm glad for Gasquet
I think Chardy is going to be the next Rafa's opponent, by the form that he is playing it will be a tough test for Rafa :s

Raonic has already lost the first set in a TB to Deliciano. If he loses again today, that will be back to back blow for him. But, I would prefer not to see him in London.
