Poor Kei stands to lose a lot of points at the USO if this injury persists. Can't see him making the final again for one thing so that's a truck load of points gone right there. Hopefully he can win a few matches at Cinci anyway.

You are not reading this thread obviously. Kei dropped out of Cincy.

Ah. Doh. Still though, I doubt he'll go too deep at the USO either unfortunately the way things have been so far if he's feeling bad after just best of 3 matches.

I might be wrong but what i remember is Kei also missed/didnt do well in Toronto and Cinci last year. He was even a suspect for USO with some find of foot-related injury(maybe toes) but ended up getting to the final.

I am not saying he will get to final again but if he get himself fit for USO, he could do well depending on the draw. I m sure his draw this year wont be as difficult as last year at least.

Unless Stan wins Cincy, Kei enters USO as #4 seed.

Kei is not injured, he is just very tired and needs to rest to feel more strong for the USO
Maybe he should learn to play a little more slow and then after to play two or three tournament in a row his body would respond much better, he does too much effort but I don't think he has too strong legs

Rafa might be stopped by Milos.

Rafa might be stopped by anyone with the unpredictable form he's currently in!

Yep, it's incredible that a player who has 14 GS (just 3 less than Federer who has more than anyone else) tied with Sampras, second in finals played (20, Federer 26) and better H2H than the three first players ranked at the present and he is taking so long to comeback to his game losing against anyone. Also it's incredible how the injuries and later the mind/confidence have so important roll for any athlete and how much can affect to them

Joao Sousa of Portugal is having quite a good year (for him).

Delighted for Fish. Nice for him to not only win but with a commanding scoreline against a guy who has been in pretty decent form the last few months. Who does he play next?

You are completely correct. Kei had some injuries and missed both Toronoto ATP 1000
and Cincy ATP 1000 last year. There was even some doubt as to whether he would actually
play in USO. He was in nobody's radar when USO began.

Given his huge lead over Stan and given that he is not defending any points in Cincy, he is guaranteed to retain his #4 rankings. Given that they play on alternate days in slams, it will be good for Kei's glass body. I do expect him to do well again this year. By well, I mean QF or better, not necessarily reaching finals as he did last year.

This is the kind of info I used to be able to find easily on the ATP's site, but can't anymore.

You can find this sort of info at core tennis . Also, it will sort the players based on the parameter that you select, just click on any column heading.

La Monf flames out again. Even more embarrassing, he fell to JJ in straight sets. Did not see it. Don't know whether La Monf has some injury issues.

I was wrong, Simon was also eliminated by Karlovic. That was a really tough draw for the 10 seeded player, to meet Karlovic, ranked 21 in the first round
